Anthony Ralston

I’m all for giving him time to develop JC, I just think at this moment in time he won’t offer anything and that’s with our current injury problems. I still think a new RB should be top of our shopping list in the summer and i’d look to loan Ralston out so he can have a full season playing senior football.

 

Think we all need to see a bit more of him, he’s been trusted to play CL so I think BR rates him. In all honesty I think Lustig may be done, so I would like to see him moved on and another quality RB being brought in too, with Ralston being his understudy.

Lustig will have a year left on his contract come the summer, so we should give him the option of running down his contract on the understanding he will be just a squad player or allow him to move. You never know he may have a good World Cup and interest in him will develop.

Gamboa should be allowed to leave as well..

 

Id extend lustig a year on reduced terms. Once hes recovered from his op he may regain form. Good experience for ralston etc

 

I’d love for Lustig to regain his form, but to me it looks as his pace is gone.. we need to add real quality there imo..

ANTHONY Ralston has joined Dundee United on an emergency loan until the end of this season.

The 19-year-old defender joins the Championship side, who are currently third in the table, and who have three vital home games in the next week - Inverness Caley Thistle on Saturday, followed by Queen of the South and Dunfermline Athletic.

Anthony made his Celtic debut back in May 2016, when he came on as a substitute against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, and he has gone on to make 10 top-team appearances. Earlier this season he scored his first goal for the Hoops, netting in the 5-0 League Cup victory over Kilmarnock at Celtic Park back in August.

Everyone wishes Anthony every successful for the remainder of this season with Dundee United.

I can't help but feel if Brendan rated him then he wouldn't be going out on loan given the horrendous form of Lustig and his reluctance to play Gamboa.

 

Good move.

Gets him valuable game time in a pressurized time down in the Championship, ready to return to stake his legitimate claim for the RB position next season.

 

A bit gutted with his move to Dundee United, I thought it was a good time to let him get a run of games with us.
He will get game time which he is badly needing but I would have preferred him to stay.

 

Ajer’s loan worked wonders for him, let’s hope Ralston’s is the same.

 

I would have liked to see get a go in the first team but given the number of games dundee utd still have to play it is a chance for him to play a lot of football. A couple of weeks ago they still had half a seasons worth of games to play which is crazy.
