Not pedantic, just the wrong side of the pitch. Had to re-read it and everything, suppose Tony was our back up left back a while there

Actually thought Tony did OK. A few rusty first touches when seemed like he thought he had more time but overall thought he did well enough.

Should've had an assist first half to get us going and sprayed it about well. Plus had that diddy Yang the whole time..

Just has a top player infront of him now..

He’s painfully slow on the ball which means he has to turn out and go back far too often. He does have it in him to pick out some great passes but usually takes so long to get it out his feet he’s got nothing on by the time he has.

We’re just a totally different animal with Johnston in that position.

He was OK, seen absolutely tons of the ball first half and Yang did nothing to offer him movement further up the wing.

Played a couple of excellent diagonals to Palma as well.

No issues with him as a rotation option, we'd struggle to find anyone else as good as him who'd be happy to be the second choice.

Touch was poor about 3/4 times when he had time and space to put a ball in which was terrible really to do that numerous times a game.

I get he's a backup player but the levels between him and Johnston are huge.

Combination of him not playing very much over last 18 months and AJ really kicking on the past 7 or 8 months.

Aye this for me ^.. made some great overlapping runs for Yang, but then Yang would invariably turn inside into traffic or play a ball back to middle. Could see Tony a bit frustrated with him.

Portugal at home thought he was excellent. Tough set of high class opponents he's been up against recently.

Must be something to look back on saying you played against Ronaldo, Lewandowski and Modric for all those who played.

Friday him and Souttar on that side were actually excellent I thought, after 10 minutes or so. First ten mins was shaky, not playing as a partnership helping each other and looked like it was easy to exploit. Then it suddenly completely switched, and they kept trying to exploit that side, was absolutely solid defensively and on the ball both showing for the pass the other on the ball and worked it between them to release Gilmour.

Poland he got to play a bit more of his natural game which is more attacking and supporting Doak.

And for us, 2 games keeping him match fit is crucial, he’s a player that can come on and do brilliantly seeing out a result but also one who needs a game or two when starting to get into his rhythm.

Forgot to say I thought he was excellent against Poland, that fat * Souttar was actually very good but Ralston bailed him out on the cover a couple times. changes my mind 6 times a season.

at least you know you’ll get a good graft and I’d argue he has a great final ball generally. Someone should tell him to move his arms when he runs.

They actually done well together as a pair both games. First 10 minutes of the Croatia game looked like they had no interest playing as a unit.

Ralston’s final ball is maybe his best attribute and somehow everytime he plays and shows it, people are surprised again. It’s mad. His crossing and passing are * good man
