Hendry plays both positions for Scotland at times so makes sense to have cover at centre half and right back.

Be good for him, hopefully he gets games he’s one that actually needs minutes rather than a break.

Patterson was always a dodgy inclusion given he's almost certainly still injured. Hickey might be similar.

Clarke looks to have made a bit of a dog's dinner of this in all honesty.

Hopefully Ralston gets game time out of it though. Otherwise would question what's the point for him given Clarke didn't include him from the start.

Tony Ralston is the latest addition to a lengthening Celtic injury list.

The defender was called into the Scotland squad last Monday but failed to make the 22 chosen by Steve Clarke for today’s 3-0 win over Cyprus.

Video Celts understands that Ralston picked up a knock during Friday’s training session and will return for treatment with Celtic rather than remain in the international squad for Tuesday’s match against Spain.

Alastair Johnston is Ange Postecoglou’s first choice right-back but Ralston is as reliable a back up as there is in the Celtic squad.

Over the last few days injury concerns have surfaced over Liel Abada, Daizen Maeda and Sead Haksabanovic.

With Greg Taylor, Aaron Mooy and Cameron Carter-Vickers missing out on international duty to deal with injuries there will be a lot of pressure on the Celtic medical team when the internationalists return to Lennoxtown in midweek.

Not the worst thing, considering AJ will start the next few games anyway, bit it's a blow if we needed backup there.

Actually feel for Ralston this season, no fault of his own, but brilliant last year's still great this year, but josip and now AJ well ahead of him in pecking order.

His form last season deserves more game time.

Considering how little football he's played since December he was excellent today.

Good lad our Tony. Always reliable and as strong as an ox. Felt for him this year as he has done nothing wrong, but Johnson has been incredible. Ralston will be a good deputy till the end of the season.

needs to get his march sharpness back asap, was caught out of position on at least 2 occasions and big CCV had to bail him out and we've now lost him too.

Cantwell needs his * kicked…Ralston did it later on:ynwacelti

Thought he was excellent when he came on, especially defensively.

He's had an unlucky season, injured for the most part and is now behind Johnston at RB, but now's a big chance for him to finish it strong, with Johnston likely out for a while.

Did really well when he came on. Not the easiest time to come into a game.

Tackle to win the ball from Canterwell was a cracker. Think he did a full 360 :56:. Not seen it back but didn't think it was a booking either.
