Pep wants him to play in the PL if he struggles we'll have a chance next summer, you can't blame City for wanting to see how he handles the PL

I don't think Man City would do a loan with an option to buy. Why would they fix a price on him just now like that? Surely they would only do that if they were actively looking to offload him, and in that case there are surely teams willing to buy right now - at least us.

I agree Southampton would probably be a good club for Roberts to go to. They do have that track record now. I still feel for Southampton it is probably a poor move. If I was one of their supporters I would expect them to either go out and buy him or buy someone else.

Loaning a talented youth from Man City to get through the season is something I would expect from a club like Huddersfield.

It's alright lads when I move back there soon I'll go key up the Ra in * car and draw a pic of KT in his hotel room, he'll soon come back.

In all seriousness it's a decent move for him, Southampton are a * posh boy family club full of southern wanks but he get game time there and the fans will like his style of play.

Then he'd just be sitting on the bench, Liverpool have Mane, Salah, Lallana, Coutinho, just bid 60M for the Leipzeg winger.

I think its a good move for him if he wants to play in the EPL which he obviously does. He's pretty much a stick on to start for them.

Its * if we miss out on him but we really were just grasping at straws we could get him permanently. Plenty other great talent out there we can get.

*. Fact is if he continues here he's just gonna sign for Southampton anyway. He does good there and suddenly he's VVD price. *.

I'm just using Liverpool as an example of an attacking team in the top 6 range that would suit his play.

My reason for it is those players mentioned are constant injury concerns with the exception of salah of course.

Liverpool have some quality in attack but nearly all of those players can't stay fit, just have to look at Mane and Sturridge as the biggest examples. Lallana is also sketchy.

Don't Liverpool also have European football to focus on? and with their injury history their squad despite it's bloated look starts to become thread bare. So I could someone like Roberts stepping up and becoming the new Sterling for them.

Obviously that isn't going to happen though, I just believe despite fact he may get plenty of game time at Southampton, he wouldn't be as effective there as say he could be at team that is bit more attacking in nature e.g Liverpool.

Regardless of that, we never at any point made a serious attempt to sign him, with him being the best signing we could ever get. We seriously had the funds for a decent transfer attempt, and then would be up to Man City and him accept or not. We didn't , and now we are going to vital european qualifiers with Forrest and Hayes.

So you know for a fact we didn't make any offers? And that we were given a fee but decided against it? Or is this your opinion?

Southampton is a good club for him, with a new manager in charge him and Nathan Redmond could be brilliant for them down the wings

Was amazing while he was here but was never going to be coming back. Pep will want him either playing in the PL or abroad for a season to get him ready for the first team or for selling him next summer.
