Given the number of changes we made tonight, it was a very good performance at a tricky venue. I think tonight shows how good a coach Ange is. In years gone by, had we made that many changes, we would have more than likely looked disjointed at best. We might have got over the line still and won, but it probably wouldn’t have been pretty. Tonight showed that every single player knows exactly what’s required of them for the position Ange wants them to play in my opinion.

Aye but your opinion has been proven to be unreliable in recent times.

Been some discussion around the problem of the number of games pro footballers have to play and the toll that takes on them. At one stage last season the club had 14 players fit to play. Now there's a full squad anyone of whom is fit to start and know their role. That's how you solve that problem.

Said this to my da when watching it.

If we did that under lennon or Rodgers we'd have faltered. That would have been a proper banana skin. We never broke a sweat tonight really.

Don’t be. He won’t be.He’s very loyal and he has ambitions for us. He’ll be around at least 4 seasons. He’ll leave when he thinks the time is right. European football is where he wants to make his mark with Celtic. And he’s probably already had other offers. He’ll see that as a sign he’s doing the right thing and just keeps him on his trajectory.

There was a moment against County I was thinking exactly this when GG was down for a bit. Another striker is a must even if it's only a loan.

This is it really. This sentiment is at the heart of what most Aussie posters have wanted to say.
There have been a few cringeworthy, 'I told you so' moments, but mostly we are just happy that Celtic is flourishing in the way that we thought (and hoped) it would under Ange.

And it's not just the first team either it seems -it's the squad, recruitment, the youth teams as well that all seemed so aligned and in such good shape. Long may it continue!
I am making the trip to get to a game in a week or so. Will be at the St Mirren game. Disappointed not to get to a game at Paradise but only had a small window. Will have to make another trip for that :) Hope to connect with some fans anyway.

As a fellow Aussie Im a big fan of Postecoglou but in reality I think the esteem and almost venerated status of which he is held by most Celtic supporters is an illusion. Yes he is a good manager and has achieved good things at Celtic, but it’s one thing to beat Dundee Utd 9-0 and another to pip Rangers to another title. He’s only ever one or two losses from supporters and the media becoming angsty and questioning whether he is the renaissance man they all thought he was. Even if he does manage to win another title, the ultimate measure of his capability as manager will be how he goes in Europe. The style with which he plays opens the door to numerous drubbings from high quality Euro teams who will exploit his vulnerabilities and tactics, in particular his need to boss midfield and dominate possession which the quality teams will not allow him to do. Like we saw last season in the Europa, Postecoglou doesn’t have a defensive plan B in his toolkit, he is not an adaptable coach, he does not change tactics regardless of the situation or opposition. While this can be a weakness or strength depending on your perspective, this will open up huge defensive holes which the good teams will capitalise on. Even if he was to adopt a defensive gameplan it would fail because Ange won’t believe in it as his mindset and principles are to win games rather than holding out for a draw.

My prediction is that he will win the league again but over the course of the season people will temper their enthusiasm and expectations, which ultimately isn’t a bad thing because he still has plenty of scope for learning and improving. I’m sure Ange didn’t join Celtic just to play Rangers and win the league, he wants to test himself out against the best teams in Europe, so it will be interesting to see how he goes.

Celtic do not have the budget or players to win the champions league. However with our draw we have been given a real chance of qaulification. I won't be mad if we loose to Madrid. Tbh its expected. They are the champions. However it doesn't change the fact he's the greatest manager in the world and you aussies who don't believe it and no longer follow the hype train can do one.

I just cannot believe what this man has done to this club. He is special and I don’t say that lightly. He has put a belief into each player that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before, not even under Rodgers did I see this much unity in the team. Every player brought in seems to genuinely love it here, no bad eggs.
    Long may it continue.

It’s hard to say that about Rodgers to be fair, because his record was sensational. I can’t really recall Rodgers resting loads of players in a cup game however. Agree regarding Lennon, his cup record spoke volumes.

Some of these Aussies are weird. Prolly banana benders, coackroaches, sand gropers, two head Taswegians or ya bog standard bogans from Adelaide.

But the rest are alright. They know Ange better cos we share the same geography

Ange squad > Rodgers squad. Not even up for debate anymore.

If you don't think his style has evolved over the last five years then you simply haven't been watching.

FFS, it's evolved just in the time he's been at Celtic.

We are in for some exciting times. The board (fair * play to them btw) clearly trust Ange 110%. His signings have been the best i have ever seen. He will make this club a fortune.

Ange said that we would be back bigger and better this season and he has kept his word so far.

Ange shows the depth of success in his teams with his second season at a club. Hang on to your hats folks !
