I like how he's raised the bar for us in terms of performances regardless of the scoreline.

 

What a man Have to say that first half was lennyesque. I wonder if he actually makes some of the fringe players nervous? He sets such high standards and I bet a few were a bit feart coming off at half time.

 

ANGRY Ange Postecoglou watched his men cruise into the last eight of the cup - then gave them both barrels for taking it easy.

The Aussie gaffer yelled in frustration at a first-half performance that had a half-empty Parkhead dozing off.


Then he warned the dressing room that he won’t stand for them turning up when they feel like it.

Postecoglou said: “I forgive mistakes and people making bad decisions.

"But I just won’t cop people just putting in a 45 minute shift. There were too many doing that in the first half and that’s not what it’s about.

“That’s when my frustration comes out.




I just feel every time you put the shirt on there’s a price to pay for it and that price is you giving everything you have for the time you are out there




We didn’t work hard enough or have enough urgency in or game. We were comfortable enough, but that’s not what I’m after.

“I got frustrated because I shouldn’t have to remind anybody about these things.

"We’ve been building the foundation for so long and you’ve got to work hard and buy into the kind of football we want to play.


Maybe it was the way I prepared them for the game.




Maybe it’s just the fact we’re on such a good run and people keep talking about momentum.

"Things are going so well, psychologically people think things are just going to happen – but they won’t.


The subs came on and made and an impact, but that’s their job.

"The last half an hour is just as important as the first 60 minutes, but that’s the frustrating bit.




We played some wonderful stuff in a second half that was much more like ourselves and that’s why I don’t accept the first 45.”

French centre-back Christopher Jullien came on to a huge ovation for the last 16 minutes after 14 months out with a knee injury.


Postecoglou said: “He’s worked hard in training and, like every footballer, he wants to play.

"So we gave him some game time and I’m sure that will encourage him to keep working hard and take his opportunity when it comes.”

Not saying they are the same, and it's a bit of a wild take...but there is a bit of Alex Ferguson about him.

 

He was going * mental in the 1st half at one point. I like how he demands standards.

 

Seems weird not hearing the word “passive” after every match lol

 

Great to see the big man call out that first half performance, which was as bad as we've played this season tbh. Proper standards at the club now and that won't change so long as this man is here.

Brilliant, my stream didn't have audio earlier so hearing this for the first time. Comforting to know that he was as raging with that first half performance as I was.

 

He is awesome.

 

I would have absolutely shat myself if Ange was shouting at me tbh.

 

I think Big Joe Hart did cause the ball went immediately forward

 

No surprise to see who he was shouting at

 

To be fair, Hart didn't have much choice except to play it forward
