Ange has been our head scout out of necessity. We needed players in who suited his system and he knew the perfect bargains. I have no doubts going forward though that Ange will want a functioning scouting system set up to find the kind of players Ange has signed already through his own knowledge. In fact I think it will be one of the top priorities from now on.

Was saying to the Mrs yesterday that I want his book, an early birthday present hint. Looking forward to reading it.

Easily one of his biggest doubters when he joined.

But * *.......what a * turnaround in professionalism since his arrival.

Kinda strange isn't it....that asking footballers to remain professional and adhere to a certain standard achieves what it has so far? Who'd have thought it.

And that's without mentioning the fact Ange has implemented what has to be a drastic style change compared to previous regime and signed a host of players who on paper should be struggling with such a large culture change.

If you'd asked any Celtic fan what they wanted after Lennon departed, would any of them asked for more than this? Squad rebuild almost complete after 2 transfer windows with new heroes in the squad, decent showing in Europe, title contenders and playing attacking football the whole time. Can't ask for more

I was probably the only Aussie who said the transformation would be rapid and not his "famously slow" way. For once in his managerial career, Ange actually has money to go out and buy players and not having to teach diddies some basics on top of his philosophy.

Think Brisbane and Melbourne Victory, both with the salary cap of $2.5 million (£1.3 million) for the entire squad!

Ange at Yokohama Marinos famously operated on a mid-range budget by J-league standards.

For the first time in his career, as I said, he had millions to go out and buy players, including potentially in excess of £13 million (nearly $25 million!) just for CCV and Jota, let alone for Kyogo, Starfelt and everybody else.

You guys have to realise that Ange is a complete football nerd. He is his own scouting network. He just needs a few minions to collect data in real life. But this guy endlessly watches football, breathes and lives it. Some wife he must have.

That Leverkusen game is still annoying.

Should have taken something. And in Betis too. AND we should have scored 3, minimum at home to Leverkusen.

@AussieGreek Initially when he's looking at players is it purely data driven? How do you possibly pluck the Juranovic and O'Riley's out of a European market totally foreign to you otherwise? What big Ange has brought in and gelled so quickly is nothing short of remarkable.

Not even Pep could have had this type of immediate effect on the a squad.

Proper frustrating. That scoreline flattered them MASSIVELY. They scored four goals and their GK was easily man of the match. Also got a penalty that was a terrible decision and scored in the last seconds of the game.

It was a bizzare game in terms of the scoreline but on the day they were ruthless in front of goal. Having said that not only did their keeper play a blinder we missed if I remember correctly 2 absolute sitters so even then it should have been at least 4-2.

Leverkusen humped Dortmund at the weekend. They are a cracking side. Makes the away game all the more annoying!

After Sunday’s impressive 4-0 victory over Motherwell in the league, the message coming out of the Celtic camp was one of togetherness.

In Anthony Ralston’s post-match quotes, he spoke about how the tight nature of the group being a major factors in the club’s recent run of positive results.

Those are vital components to what the manager is trying to build, a team that appreciates one another and the football club they represent.

It’s not something Ange Postecoglou is going out his way to create but he recognises the importance that it plays in the progress the side are making.

Speaking exclusively to Celtic TV, the manager said: “I’m satisfied with their progress, and I think that’s the main thing for me.

“We are improving, the football is improving and the quality in the squad has improved.

“I do know there are more improvements in us, I know we can get better. For me, it’s always about that next layer and I see a few more in this team.

'I don’t think you can artificially manufacture that togetherness. It has to be organic and the key to that is the people.'

“If you get the right people in the building then the environment grows from there because people respect one another and the privileges we have in doing what we love.

“There are things we do as staff to create a space where the players can build their own culture because I have no idea what 18 to 30-year-olds like these days. I take one listen to the music and have to run out the room!

“It’s not about me trying to impose what I think the dressing room should look like, it’s up to them.

“Football has been one of the foundations in my life. Everyone I’ve met, including my wife, has been through football.

“I really appreciate the impact it can have on people’s lives, so we have to understand the position of privilege we have.”

Since the turn of the year, the Hoops have been almost faultless, winning all six games and doing so with style and panache.

The squad is getting stronger as players return from injury and the performances are improving and that’s something the manager is hoping will continue away to Aberdeen on Wednesday night.

He added: “I get a bit wary when people talk about momentum because it means you get on a surfboard and the wave takes you along.

“We’ve got to prepare ourselves the same way and respect every opponent, challenge and venue we play at away from home.

'I really still think we’ve got to make sure we keep improving, that’s our challenge.'

“We were able to rest a few on Sunday, which will be important for us moving forward so we can continually try and raise our levels.

“We have some really good depth in our squad and you saw that with someone like Tom Rogic performing really well, but you can’t expect that if he plays eight games in 28 days.

“Yosuke Ideguchi is back training and should be right for the weekend, which is also promising.

“It’s going to be important because we are coming up to the critical part of the year, we are still in three competitions and we want to do well in all three. All those objectives are there and we will need a strong squad to get it.”
