Having a matter of opinion is one thing, the rudeness and abuse towards new members on this thread was uncalled for and was at times, very much over the top and not welcoming. The new boys were talking crap and you need to sit in the corner and shut up. Very few were rational and patient with those coming into the world of Scottish football on this forum.

Scots and Australians are not known for taking a step back and that also did cause friction.

The good thing that unites us is our love of Celtic and we all want Ange to do well at the club. It is a good thing to share opinions but it needs to be done with respect and fun. Some of the things I have been reading this year have been very intelligent observations.

Let us all go into the New Year with a better understanding of each other and united for Celtic success.

After today's disappointing development that Sturgeon wants to take away my Celtic for some weeks, I'm just watching the second video again so I can go to bed with a good feeling. Thank you, Ange! Just a brilliant coach and human being!

Fair enough, but with whom, and how, given current circumstances, could it realistically have went any better?

Given the squad available, time of being put in charge and other facts Ange looks to be the answer.

That's all Ange has at his disposal and can answer for. Everything else isn't relevant to assessing Anges performance surely?

In fairness, I have no hate for GVB. That may come in time but I've always felt he came across as a decent guy. The fact both him and Ange were able to have a short conversation in a cafe, no animosity or anything between them shows he's a decent guy. Gerard would have walked right past him.

 

yeah totally agree but we are a different breed from they mutants. they are usually filled to the brim with hate so its refreshing to know they respect our gaffer

 

The Aussies were wrong as well in fairness.

It took as a lot less than a whole season for Ange to get us playing.

But also right in being excited about his ability and vision as a manager.

Best of both worlds so far:
- Ozzie's right about him being an exciting prospect, who plays attacking, entertaining football
- Those right about him having to be competitive and win things from the start

Real test of winning the League still to be met but looking much more likely now. He does that at the same time as rebuilding the squad it will be an amazing achievement given the circumstances he arrived.

 

Yeah I’m just joking around. They called it right and a lot of people here including myself were unduly pessimistic.

I always say that you have to understand the circumstances around his appointment to fully appreciate why Celtic fans were so angry, and that rules out a lot of newcomer Aussie fans. It wasn’t to do with Ange per se - in fact if we had targeted him and got the deal wrapped up quickly I would’ve been happy. We were simply under the impression that a deal was all but done for months, and that work was going on behind the scenes for possibly the biggest rebuild in my lifetime. It became clear when the Howe deal fell through that it wasn’t the case, and we’d basically done nothing for 4 months or so.

Tonight and Livi at Parkhead should have been a banker 6 points we must have had easy 40+ shots across both games and managed to not score in either game. We've been poor for a while and struggled in every game we've played for weeks
