Celtic winning the League Cup just made the news on a mainstream (non football) channel in Oz.

Good to have some local interest in something happening in the back of beyond.

 

To be fair, you guys copped a lot of * due to the manner and attitude yous all had about him.

It wasn't just a simple case of "guys, I appreciate you don't know much about him, but give him time and you'll be a big fan".
It was more trying to tell us we are idiots, hadn't a clue, entitled, stuck up, etc etc.


Anyways no the point, you guys have toned it down and a couple of you lads are pretty sound and we are all on the same page with Ange. So it's worked out in the end.

What there was, was a great deal of "Who the * is Ange? What's he done? Australian and Japanese football are pish."

I get that everyone was hurting after the Howe saga but (as a person who's been here since 2013) I was appalled at how the enthusiastic new Celtic/Ange supporters were treated (and me) who were just trying to answer that question: Who the * is Ange?.

To be fair, there were a couple of dickheads who took it too far and didn't get the Scottish sense of humour. They're mainly not here any more.

Anyway, I won't say Ah telt yez. I'll just quietly re-read the first 100 pages of this thread.

 

Should Ange try to sign Boyle ? I see him as a very good attacking player.

 

I'd prefer Hanlon from Hibs.

Mind you, Boyle would be better than Abada.

 

What did Boyle do yesterday in a cup final? One decent set piece. And he was up against Greg Taylor for 90 mins.

Hasn't scored in his last 9 games. Has averaged about 7 goals a season in his last 8 years at Hibs.

I don't want him anywhere near Celtic

 

Nah . I was gonna say be would be another Jonny Hayes but Hayes actually turned out to be a not bad signing for us

 

I'd take Boyle or Nisbet if their contracts were running down as I think they'd be good depth but I'm sure Hibs would want big money.

You then went and doubled down on it though last night so clearly you still think the same.

 

January, in terms of recruitment is such an important month. In my opinion, the derby isn't a must win but a must not lose. If Ange can get 3 or 4 bodies in and players like Jota and Julien back and we are still within 4 points of them? We are still in the title race with a far better squad.

That's why I would be more than happy to see an extra week break before the Hibs/Huns game. Break from 27th of December and put the season back a week. All games back a week from now.

 

until he is properly backed in the transfer market i will have reservations about the motives to hire him .thats nothing to do ange as hes doing a good job .

I think also a lot of you didn't appreciate the expectations here, you have to win every game anything less is a disaster in most fans eyes, you can get away with a lot managing teams that are not expected to dominate their opposition week in week out.
