to be fair, that’s the experience of the majority of Greeks arriving in Australia in the post-WWII period. His mum’s generation have lived in Australia for 50+ years but can still barely speak English because they spent their entire * lives in Australia working in a factory during the day and at a restaurant at night, then with family and friends on Sunday at church and football.
