I know but in regards to budget for players, we trounce every team in the league (not including the huns), we should be still beating these teams with the players at our disposal.

I think if you go into a massive job you need the relevant tools to be able to do it properly. I'm not saying he's immune, but taking everything into consideration he has not been given anywhere near enough time. He has been hung out to dry since day 1 and its up to him to get through it.

Hes got a point to be fair. We lost two of our most important players and didn't replace them.

Aww I’m not for one minute suggesting we shouldn’t be beating the teams we have dropped points to this season, you will always get upsets in football though, that’s the nature of the sport. It was just when you said “given the money we have spent” as if Postecoglou has had a blank chequebook to bring in whoever he wants, which has definitely not been the case.

It’s not just that mate. The fact is, we needed one of the biggest rebuilds in our history, and yet we someone managed to finish the transfer window with a nett difference of +£20m. This year more than most, the board had to really back the manager, and there was a huge carrot dangling with Champions League money as a reward. The board chose the shortsighted option though, with the balance sheet more important than the playing side of things.

The balance sheet is always more important to those *.. the playing side gets the bare minimum to win Scottish title and do OK in Europe in the hope one of our players shines so we can flog them.. rinse and * repeat for the last * knows how long...

No way should he be sacked or anything like it if we drop points here. However, he needs to have the pressure mounted on so he really grasps the situation and the club he’s at.

I admire that he has been quite frank with us thus far and there is a understanding that he himself it disappointed - he’s not trying to sugarcoat it to save his own bacon. So fair play to him in that sense.

Don’t get me wrong, the balance sheet is important as well. You cannot just spend spend spend, it’s just not sustainable. There is times to push the boat out though and look at the bigger picture. In the summer was one of those times.

I don’t think we even need to go that far in this conversation mate.

They spend money extremely poorly and are extremely wasteful. The amount they do spend is more than enough to do better than what we do.

Sacking this board would improve the team and hugely improve the balance sheet.
They’re grossly incompetent, it’s the biggest smoke and mirror act in football.

They’re in their position because they know how to dupe Celtic supporters, not because of their ability to run a company or a club.

It was already obvious but the Eddie Howe then CEO debacle could not have made it any clearer. We have zero excuse for ignoring it now, it’s on us as supporters.

if ange still hasnt got us up to speed come january theres absolutely no way the board are gonna throw money at players he wants or needs incase they decide to get rid of him.this lame excuse of a 'rebuild' has to stop ,we sell all our good players after 2 years we are in a constant state of rebuild .ange needs the team to stop leaking goals he cant ignore half the game in favor of going all out attack

ANGE POSTECOGLOU is ready to return to Japan to plunder their end-of-season transfer market and bring the next Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic.

Kyogo has become a fans’ favourite with seven goals since his £4.5million switch from J-League side Vissel Kobe in July.

Former Yokohama F Marinos manager Postecoglou, above — who takes his side to Aberdeen today — is an expert in that market after title joy with his last club.

And he’s revealed that Celts have already targeted stars to follow Kyogo, right, Shunsuke Nakamura and Koki Mizuno to Parkhead. Postecoglou said:

“Yeah, that’s one of the markets we will be looking at.

Obviously I know it well and they will get to the end of their season which is a good time if there’s anyone who will fit into our set-up.

“We will be looking everywhere. The last window was frantic. This time we want to make sure that we are planning well in advance.

“We have already identified targets and begun discussions before we get to January so that we can conclude deals a lot quicker than we did in the previous window.”

Celts brought in 12 players in the summer window but Postecoglou added: “There’s no secret we still need to add to the squad.

We were never going to do it in one transfer window, particularly when you look at the significant exits we had over the past year.

“This was always going to be a two to three window process.

"We know the areas we need to bolster. That doesn’t necessarily mean adding experience.

“It’s about getting more players that I believe can play the type of football we want to play. There is a mentality that is attached to that but that’s not relevant to age.

It’s about the type of personalities we want to bring in, guys who want to play the kind of football we want to play, who are going to be brave and ambitious.

“I don’t expect us to do a lot of business in January.

“But we will definitely be adding something to the squad.”

Meanwhile, Postecoglou has hailed Hoops legend Scott Brown as he prepares to face Celtic for the first time as an Aberdeen player.

The Parkhead gaffer said: “He is a legend of the club.

“I’m sure when the fixtures came out this was one he circled.”

The only “cuddle” I need these days is off the mrs :56::56:

Listen, I know very well what you were gettinf at, and you make a point, but at the same time we still beed to physically SPEND money when we are signing players.

Whether or not we keep net spend down by balancing things out through player sale etc is irrelevant, we still need to part with cash to bring players in.

This would be a great change. I’ll believe it when I see it.

It’s things like this I love about him. That is putting the onus firmly on the board.

Now if he can start putting a run together domestically he might actually get to January to put said pressure on the board.

Good post. It all starts from the top though for me, Ange isn't blameless either. He needs to adapt his belief and systems to the personel he has available, in line with the opposition. To me that's basic stuff and infuriating and stupid not to do that.

But it's amazing the thoughts and actions of the board have led us to this point. Refused to act on Lennons * heep of a season. Then went all in on DD fancy for Howe. When that went * up, kinda of went half hearted on Maresca with Harkin. We stalled and he went to Parma. This led us to Ange.

This is PL last minute grab. Plays attacking football inline with Celtic teams of the past. Great. But none of the promised set up and backing that Howe was set to get, that is needed to progress the club. Instead Ange gets a reduced budget and Lennons cast offs and missing various heads of other departments, whilst the CEO has been and gone in the summer. Yet we also have WGS in a consultancy role ffs.

It's like the board have went with Ange as a last minute panic, like when you were at club when your 18, trying to pull anything as the lights went up at 2.55am. Left him to get on with it and hoping it works as they slowly piece together backroom staff etc. A shambles is an understatement.

Just want Ange to play to his strengths meantime with injures and 2 games a week. Get us in the mix whilst adding to the squad. Then say next summer develop his system with the better squad. We live and hope, but his determination to carry on regardless may be his undoing.

He’s so likeable. I’ve never wanted something to be a success as much as this.

Sounds like we’ll maybe get 3 or 4 players in max, bearing in mind some players we need to get rid of still and some have to go out on loan it doesn’t sound like a great deal of business
