Do not know much about him I must admit but no question for me we need a left back for sure. Taylor is a decent player but only as a back up for me not as the main man there.

 

So at this point it's safe to say Ange is a professional and he means business, he's not some hapless no-body that the board brought in to be their fall-guy. He's got too much professional pride to let that happen. I think it's also fair to say that despite our misgivings, the board are mostly doing what we have been asking of them. Now is a good moment to realise the dust has well and truly settled on Lennon's doomed 2020/21 campaign. As we go into this week's fixtures I think we're due a bit of gratitude for the fact we have a bit of hope again. We're not entitled to quadruple trebles. We're not entitled to 4 wins per season against the mouth-breathers. That golden quadruple treble era was always going to be proceeded by a lull. Now, not even in September of the following season, we are finding our feet again. That is cause for gratitude, and hopefully by dinner time on Sunday it will be cause for celebration as well.

Was thinking that late last night. We will need to stop them crossing to their big men in front of goal. They seem to be physically bigger than us. Will be a challenge contesting high balls with them.
We can counter that by keeping a high press. We will be the quicker, more relentless team keeping the ball on the deck. I see a lot of late tackles by them on the day. The referee better earn his pay on the day by controlling the rough stuff with early cards.

I have been sidetracked from keeping my mind on the AZ game and Sunday's game at Ibrox by all the anticipation of getting players in before the transfer deadline. Am sure others are in the same way, but we should not because it is too distracting. Need to keep our mental energy for the two games.

Leave the transfer negotiations to Dom and Ange. Personally I hate all the hype. Would rather learn about a player after he has signed, not before. None of this' Shouda, Couda, Wouda'.

Simply the player has signed or not, without all the dramas. Giakoumakis, Scales, Nisbet et al.

I appreciate the positivity, I really do, but I wouldn't go that far with regard to the board to be honest.

Ange has been terrific, no problems there, but players arrived too late, that's a fact and Ange stated that himself.

Likewise there is plenty more we could be doing as a club. We need to get out of this short term mentality which is so typical of football supporters. A good manager, some competent signings and a few wins does not make a great football club in the longer term.

Appointing Strachan while he works for Dundee is yet another crony move. We have seen no serious movement on a modern footballing director and it seems the board will try to work Strachan into the role.

I'll continue to negatively judge the board until we see more than the bare minimum, which is what we've seen so far.
