I’d like to know how aware he was at the disappointment to his appointment.

I hope his reluctance to come right up to the fans with the players is just down to his humbleness, and not because he thinks a lot are still against his appointment.

Alan Brazil is a stupid * in general. Odious man, seems to bring up culture, race and stereotypes a lot of folk if they aren't from a background he is familiar with

Undoubtedly fully aware; I think some people seem to (still) think coming from the other side of the planet might have meant he had no idea what he was getting himself into. He'd have known that (initially), he would have been a polarising appointment.

As to the latter, I've no doubt it is by design (with a mix of humility). The players get the adulation, giving them the confidence etc to keep putting in performances, and building a nice rapport between players and supporters. You'll see he shields players from criticism, and will take just about all mistakes, poor performances on himself (he even ridiculously did this the other day going so far as to say lack of transfer action was perhaps due to him not impressing on others in the club how urgent such action was). This is all part of the Ange magic in building a positive, supportive mentality in the squad/club; you'll see comments from people already about how they think players will want to run through a brick wall for him (no doubt a refreshing contrast from last season). Even in his press conference yesterday (?), rather than comment on Griffiths' situation, he simply didn't make any comment whatsoever.

I look at my own circumstances, I hadn't watched Celtic from Scott McDonalds days until Rogic moved to the club. I'd get up at ridiculous hours to watch some dodgy stream, only to see him not make the match day squad or otherwise warm the bench. Now, I have never been more excited to watch the club, and that is largely because of the manager. No more dodgy streams, I've coughed up for Celtictv, and will soon be in possession of my 'viva la revolution' (green) t-shirt with Ange's face splashed on it. I am scratching my head and wondering how does one support a club and be more interested in the manager's performance than any given player? When we score, I'm more interested in seeing Ange's reaction on the side-line than that of the players celebrating!

There’s a real togetherness now enhanced by new players, none of that Lennon * bring players in then say they are not fit as an excuse to play his favourites.

From what I have read, on the night of the AZ game fans were chanting a version of the song

Really? I was at the game and didn't hear that. Looks like a good shout from yourself then.

I think Ange is humble as you say. Going up to the fans as a manager may not be what he does, he tends to stand back and allow his players to get the accolades. He did say when he first arrived at the club that he wants people to get to know him as a person. He comes across as a normal guy.

I will find the source and provide it for you if you like. I was not at the game, being in Melbourne. I believe it was from the The Celtic Star site.

No need. To be honest I had to look up the song when you suggested it so probably wouldn't have recognised it anyway the other night.

Yes. If you have a chance to read his book you will understand how Ange thinks about how football should be played and of his journey in football.

Maybe he was teased about his name as a kid. I did enjoy watching him as a player but his comments regarding Ange were churlish. Just makes him look like a *.

Had the board went for Ange instead of Howe originally the meltdown would have been even more poisonous than it was and we would have been treated to even more, if that's possible to imagine, "who the * is he/not fit for purpose/lack of ambition/don't renew" posts etc.

I wonder if Ange/Ronny would like to work together.. :88:

There is a question I would like to ask. Does Glasgow have the highest number of Scots/Irish people in Scotland compared to other cities in Scotland ? Or compared to any other city in the world outside of Eire or Northern Ireland ?

That's not a bad shout as they're both purists in their own way.

I think I need to re-phrase that question. Is Glasgow the biggest city outside of Eire or Northern Ireland with people of Irish ancestry ?
