It seems he himself is doing the scouting. Fair enough then- the players are his choices, and he publicly takes responsibility for that. Although, I think a fitness coach is critical, right now, as much as players.

I can't see Lovric signing. We have Forrest, Furuhasi, Adaba and Johnston for the wings. There is no way we will have 4 of that type of quality at CB. One more maybe added there and then Welsh. Maybe Davies or Itakura on loan. Up front I expect we will see Edouard away but at this stage it wouldn't suprise me if he stayed. He isn't exactly appealing to many with his performances at the minute. If he goes we will probably bring in two strikers I think with possibility of Griff being punted too. I expect us to sign a RB for the first team; a CB on loan, an Edouard replacement and a few projects. It should leave the team looking something like:

    Hart

    RB
    Davies/Ikatura/ Julien
    Starfelt
    Taylor

    McGregor
    McCarthy
    Turnbull

    Furuhasi
    Forrest

Johnston is basically a man down and Furuhashi will play anywhere across the 4.

We definitely need another winger and I'm almost 100% certain we will sign one. May not be Lovric. But we will.

Widemen are key to how we will play under the manager so we need options.

Johnston is a quality player who needs a conditioning coach. Remember Forrest before Rodgers came in. He was very similar. Always hurt. Johnston will be a key man for us if he can stay fit. Furuhashi predominantly plays on the left wing and that is where I see him operating primarily. We might bring in someone on loan but can't see us spending big when we have splashed £8.5million already on widemen.

Without a doubt. He’s already shown he has the right temperament to deal with the idiocy and is savvy enough to know when they’re trying to entice him with a loaded question, etc.

I'm not denying he could be a good player for us but it's a massive if. That's taking a risk hoping he can stay fit throughout a 65 game season. A lot of maybes in there.

A risk we can't afford and tbh hes flattered flattered decieve even when fit..he's not a young teen anymore. 30 year old James forrest other side who's had injury problems of late and a 19 year old Israeli who's adapting to the country and league.

Again, Furuhashi isn't solely a winger.

    We 100% need a winger.

It's absolutely * brutal. There's one guy, I think it's Ronnie Esplin. His questions are the kinda thing a 10 year old would ask. Literally the only interesting question there was the one about the sporting director, and I think that was fan media. Amazing these * get paid for this.

Good presser, finally feel like we got some info on the club as well.

There was one "negative" I took, maybe a nitpick, but on the whole I think a lot of positives were spoken by Ange and he continues to impress and encourage me.

I'll start with my negative - he mentioned that's 5 transfers in a short space of time.
Kind of goes against his previous pops at the board and in the media about needing things done quicker.
But I'll not dwell on that too much, as the rest of the presser was good.

Positives - the way he speaks up Hart and McCarthy is good, think it's very clear these are players offered in some capacity by the club/scouts, as opposed to ones he has scouted himself (which he says he enjoys more so), he comments well on how much he researched them and how much he thinks they will offer, from ability to experience.

Then we have the positives of still wanting more positions sorted, depth and quality. Hopefully we see more soon.

Talk at the end of the presser about the staffing and structure.
I'll not take him as the official confirmation that anything is happening for sure (that would be unfair), but the way he worded it all, the focus and emphasis on aspects of it was good. Honest as well.
Restructure (in what ever fashion it takes) and his own staff are things he still sees happening, as he seems to understand also from mckay. But the focus for now is on the squad and any of the staffing stuff is earmarked (my word) for after the window.
That's the first time we have any inclination to what's going on and a loose indication to expectations of "when".

    All good for me.

I don’t know Ange seems to have heaped pressure on them but again it seems too little too late

Glad to hear we will be looking at a DoF. Good to have a manager who actually answers questions and not just blow smoke up himself and the boards *

I think the board maybe have took the big man too far and is putting down some firm demands or he will tell them to rap it.

Best bit about the Presser was him joking about losing connection on his phone when anyone above wants to talk about anything other than transfers in.

Tongue in cheek but at least he’s on the same wavelength as the fans just now, get the squad sorted in the short term then deal with DOF, modernisation of other departments and all that * when the window shuts.

Dom owes him a pint. He did a better job of clarifying the boards plans than anybody on the board :giggle1:

I seem to like him more and more with each press conference that he does. I just get the feeling the guy will do all he possibly can to make us succeed, which is all we can ask of him. I really do hope he delivers what we demand.
