Oh, come on. People liked Šimunović catapulting Kenny Miller. That was violent, and Jozo is from (South) Eastern Europe. After all the board have done to ruin the club, * their property rights. They actually * off the manager enough to get called out in the media, as well.

No, if the conditions under which he took the job are moved it’s simple, he’ll walk

This is a really important point that Europeans never seem to understand about Australian football. It is precisely because football is a second class citizen in Australia that those who do love it are sooooo passionate. We are obsessive about anything that casts a positive light on the game and endlessly proselytise to non-believers - in this case Scottish fellow travellers.

Personally, I am and always have been a Celtic fan but can only welcome the new Oz Celts. Who cares if they're mainly here because of Ange?

    They're here.

So he’s a quitter then? Another great attribute to add to the list.

Honestly, quitting in this particular case would make sense. Why let his reputation take a hit if he knows he wasn't provided with the players he wants? Persisting means he gets losses associated to his record. Of course, I'd like him quitting because it means the board are in trouble.:101:

About what I expected in reply

if he doesn’t throw a fit he’s a yes man and if he sticks to his principles he’s a quitter.

That's it in a nutshell for me as it's not the biggest sport a lot of the Aussies are backing their guy. I can't imagine many Scottish folk focus as deeply on one guys career essentially supporting him over a club or supporting whatever club he goes to. Ange Postecoglu is nowhere near as big a name as Celtic is in football so the notion he will be dictating to this board when even recent history shows he wont Is just wrong not saying I agree with it but if the board won't match Rodgers ambition after everything he did for us what chance will Ange have

This is the part that * me up the wall.

We've only been following Celtic closely for a few weeks (but have always known of Celtic), and told "trust us about the board", "Glasgow culture" etc etc, but on the flip side, everyone is suddenly an expert on Ange after a few weeks of hearing his name for the first time though and us Aussies who have been following him for decades, especially the Aussie-Greeks, cannot provide anymore insights into his history, thinking, actions etc.

They will try to turn him into one, if results do not go our way. He should be ready to turn the tables. Pre-emptive quitting is definitely an option. I haven't seen quotes from him confirming he personally okayed Hart and McCarthy. I respect him for not staying quiet when transfers were slow. Hopefully, he can exert more pressure.

not all of us Aussie are over zealous about Postecoglou and his abilities. yep fair enough we jumped on board to follow Celtic because of his appointment. In fact I think my very first post I said to you all get ready for some tennis scores.
Aussie hoping your team do well can only be a good thing. The geordies think that if you are not from Newcastle your nothing but an illiterate flog and have no right to support the team. Why would you turn supporters away? Absurd mentality The more supporters the better I would think. Thats what makes a huge club and fans are the real custodians of any club. no fans no club

No-one is turning support away, the initial assumption a lot of Aussies made was like you said "tennis scores" etc, but failed to appreciate the pressure at a club like Celtic, if he starts his Celtic career like his Yokohama one, he will be hounded out, one of our club legends is now hated by a lot because of the way he managed us last season, stubborn and blaming everyone but himself. We have had 3 competitive game under Ange, and won 0, if that run extends to 5 or 6 it will be curtains, he needs to put a run of 8-10 wins in the league, maybe a draw in there will be ok.

What makes you think we don’t appreciate the pressure a club such as Celtic brings? Genuine question?

I think the previous manager is disliked because of his * approach and constant buck passing as much as his results if I’m honest but you guys would know better than I.

I’m not sure many mangers have had to deal with the same short lead in and shambolic squad condition leading into a run of early games as this. Not an excuse, he still needs to start winning, and I’m confident he will, but think it will buy a little time and if so I think he’ll repay the faith.

We appreciate the pressure at a club like Celtic, and it is undoubtedly the biggest pressure he will face in his career at a professional (not personal) level, but it is the Scots who don't appreciate that implementing a new system with a skeleton squad is going to take a lot of time. Demanding results whilst also acknowledging time and players is needed is hugely turning me off this forum because it is exhausting reading the constant contradictions and hypocrisy, rather than this forum being an online community where we all support a common cause. Of course I've been in this 10+ year old forum for 5 minutes, but there is no denying there is a huge amount of irrationality in here.

    It's constantly going in circles:

"Ange needs time to implement his style" - "but but but you don't get time in Glasgow."

Yeah you do get time in Glasgow, Gerrard showed that. But if Celtic fans think booting Ange after a few games of bad results when he only now has a half functioning squad (with 4 players in the door in ONLY the past 5 days) can bring success by bringing in another manager to start all over from the beginning, then good luck.
