How are people still discussing this baseless “yes man” nonsense? Jesus wept.

Except this time we just blew near £20m the season before on useless * and have had 0 attendance record for the year and no money. Were that loaded to get these wrong.

These things can turn very quickly.

If we bring in Soppy and Abada for £8m, suddenly you've more than a week to go before Mityalland and things don't look too terrible.

Then you've three weeks before the SPFL to bring in another few.

Enough hasn't been done. Same old Celtic. But it's better Ange gets the guys in who he wants rather than rushing.

If the board hadn’t hired a manager who wasn’t up to the job, we might have seen the rewards of giving the manager money to spend. The board still had season ticket money from last season along with the sale of Frimpong. They have got season ticket money again this season as well.

G'Day Bhoys, just another hanger-on Australian here. Albeit one who supports Crystal Palace, so truly a gentleman of class and grace. I'll be taking a keen interest in Celtic now as well though, and even as an outsider I always liked you over that other lot, and that's the * honest truth, I swear it! Some of my best recent memories with Palace are games where we * over Gerrard, who, let's not beat around the bush, has always been a bit of a *. The 3-3 draw at Selhurst (after trailing 0-3) to ruin their little title challenge, and beating them 3-1 in Gerrard's final match at Anfield. Heh.

There's probably not too much you haven't heard about Ange from other Aussies at this point, but I thought I'd give my perspective on a few things that have come up.

    - I think because Ange is Australian and Australian's just don't get the opportunity to manage European clubs let alone big ones, you were always going to get a lot of Aussie interest. But it's also because people who have watched him genuinely think he's good. If a different Australian manager like Tony Popovic somehow got the job, there would of course be interest, but I seriously doubt you'd have nearly as many Aussies here singing his praises.

-Ah yes, Eddie Howe. As a Palace fan I know him well. Not sure if this has been mentioned here, but it was revealed in the recent Amazon Prime Palace documentary When Eagles Dare that after we sacked George Burley, our chairman had reached a deal with Howe to take over. Everything was agreed, they'd shaken hands on the deal, he'd been shown around the training ground, etc. All that was left was to sign the contracts the following morning. Yet that following morning it was announced that Howe had signed to become the new Burnley manager (unbeknownst to Palace) lol. I mean fair enough, the contract wasn't signed and that's business sometimes, but to verbally agree the deal and shake on it, all the while obviously negotiating with another club, I think that raises certain questions. So I wasn't hugely surprised that he dropped out of the running for this job at the eleventh hour after extended negotiations.

On the subject of Yes-men, I don't think Ange is one. But he was also never going to burst into the building on his first day and throw Kennedy out by the scruff of his neck like many clearly would have wanted. My impression from watching him is that he's a straight shooter; you won't have to jump through hoops trying to interpret what he's trying to say. So when he says during his first press conference that it's a clean slate, he means it. It'd be weird if he said that but had already made up his mind about people like Kennedy, Strachan, Ntcham, Griffiths, etc. Presumably they've all demonstrated one way or the other that they want to be on-board with his new direction, and he'll give them that opportunity. You obviously know your board better than me, but I doubt Ange would accept all these decisions being made for him.

On the football, may I suggest that you come to terms now with the fact that you're going to concede a few absolutely comical goals this season. Shot-from-opponents-half-over-the-keeper-on-the-halfway-line type calamities. Or defender-trying-to-play-out-passes-directly-to-opposition zaniness. It's going to happen. All Ange will ultimately care about is that you're scoring more goals than the opposition in good style, not focusing on keeping things tight at the expense of attacking play. Hopefully it doesn't happen in the UCL qualifiers though!

On expectations and pressure, no question that Celtic supporters are right that this will be different from anything Ange has experienced. I think it's clear that Postecoglou has a way of working and the changes he implements don't happen overnight. And while the fans may lose their * if you get beaten by Ross County, he'll remain fully focused every day on the team continually improving at being able to play how he wants them to.

I can see a few parallels between Celtic and Palace this year. Both sides needing to rebuild and both taking risks with their choice of manager. Ange is proven, but not in Europe where he's largely unknown. Vieira certainly isn't unknown, but is mostly unproven. I guess where we diverge is that a disaster for us will be relegation, whereas a disaster for you will be finishing second :D

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Ange and you guys do. Not simply for the Australian element, but it'd be great just to see somebody from our side of the world come over there and be a big success, quietening those who look down upon all football outside of Europe or South America.

    Hail Hail!
    Come on you Palace!

Everyone's raging at supporters complaining about this * up situation.

You should be raging that Ange STILL hasn't been given a first team player and we're playing a massive qualifier in 7 days.

Too busy defending the guy when you should be attacking the incompetent board he's stuck with.

Celtic will go into this tie with Ralston as our only RB and people are worried Ange might be getting called a 'Yes man'.
