Now we're not far from the friendlies starting none of the Aussie contingent can utter the phrase "It's only pre season" If we play poorly in a game as what felt like half of Australia signed up to tell us Pep had Ange posters up on his wall off the back of a pre season friendly

One of the most underused, underrated word ever. Not heard it in years, saw it the other day and forcing it into conversation loving it haha

Personally I am more concerned with the squad at present and the first practice game in Wales against Sheffield Wednesday. To my mind we need to have two players for each position minimum. These games will help decide who slots in to what position. Utility players will need to be discovered as well that can play in more than one position. Some players may find themselves excess to requirements. We may even have some Academy lads promoted to starting lineups. It will be interesting.

Oh yeah, let's just omit that most of the senior players are only joining pre-season training tomorrow.

Pressures are different. Too many time lapses in coaching a national team and I believe it is more difficult because the whole country is watching you. It is an honour and also a matter of national pride . The pressures at club level are different but you get to work with your players and staff on a regular daily basis. Players know each other well rather than having a national squad with players selected from many clubs and limited exposure time together before international games. I think most coaches prefer coaching at club level, including the pressures in involves.

This is not a loaded question, but why do you think it is that no European clubs took a chance on him (Ange) over the years ?

Frankly it does not matter if you lose in these practice games. The point is to make all the pieces in the jigsaw puzzle fit for the real games in the near future. Ange is no *. He is doing his job, not sucking up to the Press. If he wins all these games, good. If he does not, that is good also - it's a pre-season work in progress, putting all the bits in the right place. Like a mechanic putting together a V8 engine and tuning it for maximum power and performance. Those of you who know what I am talking about also know that such a project does not happen overnight. It takes patience, skill and knowledge based on experience of having done it before.

How many great coaches are working in South America that you are unaware of ? Ange spent years coaching Australian national teams. National team coaches do not tend to have a high international profile in the same way that club managers do.

All I'm hearing is excuses. If he doesn't have at least 60% possession on Wednesday he should be sacked on the spot I want Darren Moore to be waxing lyrical about him post match

The whole country isn't watching in the same the whole of Scotland doesn't watch the Cricket/Rugby team. I don't think there is a comparison to be made between coaching Australia especially now they qualify through Asia and coaching Celtic.
