Ange is a great coup for Celtic. He will totally transform their style and force them to play attractive, sophisticated football. It’s sad seeing some fans write him off simply because he’s from Australia or isn’t a “big name”.

Worth noting that achieving J League success with Yokohama is a greater and more challenging achievement than winning the SPL. This might rankle some fans but outside Celtic and Rangers the standard and quality is very poor (probably akin to the A league)

Make no mistake the lure of Celtic for Ange isn’t the SPL, it’s the chance to play ECL and market himself to the bigger clubs and leagues. The biggest threat for Ange is being dumped for not achieving early success, as history shows he needs at least a year to implement his philosophy and tactics before they start to bear fruit. Nevertheless I’m confident he will win the SPL in his first season, but he will have his sights set on taking Celtic into the deep stages of the ECL by his second season.

Celtic fans should be doing cartwheels that they secured Ange as manager. Certainly better than another ho hum Brit who thinks long ball is still relevant.

Im not sure why some Celtic fans demand an elite manager or why they think they even need one. There are three things in life that are certain. Death, taxes and either Celtic or Rangers winning the league. How exciting. You could probably appoint a dog to the role and there’d still be about a 50% chance of winning the title.

Ange is a good match for Celtic because he wants to coach in Europe and is hungry for success, unlike someone like Howe for which the SPL would be a massive step down and probably present as a failure on his resume. Nothing against Celtic, they are a great club with the best fans but the SPL is probably even poorer than the A league. Wouldn’t you want someone who is on the up rather than another boring Brit intent on playing long ball? Maybe Ange should change his name to something more masculine and anglo like Max Powercell to make himself more marketable.

What the Dickens. So much misery and negative thinking from a lot of you lads. You may as well get your knitting out, sit in the corner, call yourself De Farge and roll out the tumbrills to 'welcome' Postecoglou in his mission to help the club to glory. A very sad attitude I must say.

What moaners some of you out there have been, over the last four days while I have been reading these posts. If you won a million pounds in the lottery you would complain it was not enough. Have some confidence in your new manager/coach and give him your support. Put yourself in his shoes for a change. He is coming to Celtic FC with the best of intentions. I can assure you its not just for the money, he would have been paid more in Japan. He is uprooting himself and his young family from the other side of the world to come to Glasgow and put smiles on your faces and joy in your hearts. Give the man a warm Scottish welcome.

Just wait till we sign 6 of them and they all need to go through a similar time line to Ange.
Two weeks of "negotiations" followed by "72hrs of travel" then "14 days isolation" before they get to join us.

We might have some new players by the end of August.

I just watched a club not pay taxes then die. Its now floating about as a scabby zombie club, so I wouldn't say all is certain in life.

Also Scottish football is the most exciting in the world if your Celtic fan. You'll never understand the despair of dropping 2 points, or constantly having to keep an eye on your rival. You've no idea the pressure that comes with just being a fan of a club in Glasgow. * being a manager. Ange will never have experienced pressure anywhere near what he's about to.

His priority won't be bringing players from half way round the world, maybe he might bring one and certainly not from the a-league. he will want players that can hit the ground running from the UK, it'll be january that he will really try to stamp his mark on the team.

The Celtic Song ... There can be only one !
Can we not hire a wee caravan or motor home for him and park it at the training ground for him to do his quarantine ?

That way he can get a wee set of binoculars and a walkie talkie and watch the team train from the wee window whilst communicating with JK and the laptop
