Think what he’s pointing out is the guys adapted to every scenario that’s been thrown at him and came out on top.

In their final season the had anet spend of around £18mil.

I'll look at the more at home but I'm sure over the course of their stay in the prem their overall net spend will be around the bottom tier of clubs in the epl.

If Eddie Howe was to go to Australia for 5 years, the entire footballing world would expect him to win at least 4 league titles with relative ease.

But either way, means very little to Celtic as he isn't the Celtic manager.

All managers are a risk to some degree, but you must be an absolute idiot if you think that what Ange has achieved in 25 years in Aus and Japan is anywhere comparable to Howe and his promotions/Championship win with Bournemouth in less than half that time.

True, and this is why I do hate bashing on Ange too much because he can only do what/where he has been.

But none of that matters still to the job at Celtic, surely? We are a completely different scenario and Ange unfortunately shows no signs of ever being able to manage at this sort of club.

Excellent post on Ange's below average statistics and his inability to pick a settled team. Celtic need to pull the plug on this insanity.

Ange Postecoglou's statistics should be read out by the journalists/bloggers at his press conference from the modern media, Celtic fanzines and websites. That's if the club let's the fans ask any questions. I desperately hope he doesn't get one.

That must change. The board don't answer the hard questions at the AGM.

The board haven't communicated in over 100 days.

Dom Mackay hasn't even introduced himself, will he make a press conference today? I doubt it. He's running scared. Hiding in the background. He's not got a vision for Celtic. He's a Rugby Man that doesn't know how to kick a football. An Edinburgh yuppy class born with a silver spoon.

If he has any business mind what so ever, he would pull the plug on this insane act of self harm in Ange Imposter Cogolou.

But he has shown signs that he has adapted anywhere he went and has neen a success.

And honestly, I’m clinging to that until we know better for a fact because no matter what we say he’ll be here.

I can 100 percent understand where you are coming from and if I was a true blue fan of celtic I would be worried about getting a manager I don't know too. I remember watching the champions league and see Celtic beat united back in 06, I think Nakamura scored and Saha missed a penalty. I rember seeing Scott Mcdonald mongrel a scrappy goal against an amazing Milan team. Celtic was up there and I'm sorry for you guys that it has been a slippery * slide down due to poor management.

These leagues in Asia are extremely different to European leagues and whilst they are of lesser quality the reason that there are so many different winners is not because the level "is so * poor." Both the leagues are selling leagues and in Australia we have a very strict salary cap. Basically if a team wins the league here nearly the whole team will be picked apart by the rest of the league offering a higher wage or overseas clubs grabbing a bargain. Meaning a rebuild is required nearly every year. No team is truly dominant here because even if you have a billionaire owner and a massive stadium you can still only pay the same wages as any other club.

I will put my hand up and say the quality in Australia is *. Ange has such good credentials because he turned that * into gold. He single handedly lifted up the quality of football in the country because even though the other * were spending more than Brisbane they couldn't beat them for 36 games. The only way a team could get close was by paying Ange more but the first thing he does is clear out the deadwood. So that's where the teething issue comes if the players aren't up to scratch.
He got the best out of a terrible socceroos team too. He stepped down because his personal goal was to win the World Cup with Australia. He believed that the only way Aus could take on the world was through aggression, team work and total football. This is an obviously crazy goal so he was well and truly undermined.
I can't say too much about his career in Japan but his team did have the 12th largest budget. I'd also back that most of the Japanese teams in the top flight could beat most of the Scottish teams in the SPL. I would argue that winning the league when all the teams are evenly matched is a greater achievement than winning a league with a few clear dominant teams. Your stats about the J league were crazy but it isn't because the league is * poor. https://sport.optus.com.au/articles/os14427/j-league-spending-analysis-japan?setDevice=mobile
It hasn't been announced yet and after what happened with Howe who the * knows what will happen but the Scottish Celtic expats here in Aus are excited. He gets branded a winner for his desire dedication and passion. He doesn't moly coddle players and I'd expect Ange to be passionate and abrasive. If he fails even with the superior resources of Celtic there will be a ton of quiet Australians eating their words. Insane, like his World Cup goal, he will be aiming for the Champions League and he will most likely immediately start weeding out cancers and parasites in the club that stand in the way of his lofty ambition. It doesn't make sense to me either and I still have some doubts that it will go through but if it does there are going to be hundreds of thousands of Aussies cheering Celtic at 3am over here.

Why are people comparing a win % of teams in competitions where the majority of the club's don't have a financial advantage over each other and are equalised by the fact champions change every year, to the big two teams in Scotland and their financial advantage and comparable win %. It's not comparing apples with apples.

Postecoglou will be a massive success if your predictions are anything to go by.

Can’t believe you still have the nerve to post on here. Never mind your ability to be wrong on literally everything but your misogyny, homophobia and xenophobia should see you * chased.

I’m sure there’s a Thistle forum you can infest with your bullshit and be universally hated.

Any comparison of Howe's stats to Postecoglou's would be with complete disregard of the context.

Howe would have been my preferred choice simply because I was aware of who he was long before being linked to us and I also found him impressive long before he was linked to us. That boat has sailed and honestly couldn't give a toss where Howe's careers goes or develops from here.

Postecoglou I never heard of till about two weeks ago. Doesn't mean he is a bad manager but it stands to reason I am more sceptical with this appointment, as most are. I will give Ange my full backing and I hope he gives us reasons to be optimistic and hopefully we get that quickly

Of course it’s not his fault and if he has ambition he’d want the job even if he he felt he wasn’t qualified/experienced himself.

But... the blame does lie with those who appoint him without doing proper due diligence and I include the general ‘mood’ of the support in that.

Making the wrong appointment is just as bad or worse than keeping Lennon in place 3-6 months beyond his ‘use by date’. In fact 6 months managerless last season would have made zero difference to the outcome.... but might have seen us with a decent appointment by this time , with a squad in place and ready to go at Europe..

I don’t believe they (board) even started looking for a new man until well after Lennon had actually gone.

Aye if I remember right he was good against us over a couple of season's before and after his stint here as well..

Don't remember loads about him other than he was prolific before coming to us and Henrik was always trying to set him up :giggle1:

Kevin Muscat has a better win percentage than Postecoglou from both their stints at Melbourne Victory.

I don’t have a clue, again it’s SSN so take it with a pinch of salt, maybe there is something with his team in Japan?

Whilst I can appreciate my knowledge of the Aussie league is very minimal to say the least, I (with all respect) still don't see anything from Ange or being spoken about, that suggests he is a suitable candidate for us.

Had he came in in 2014 with this CV I would have been all for it, we had the luxury of time and dominance to afford a guy like Ange the chance to weed out the deadwood, sort out a winning mentality, etc etc.

We are so far from that equation though, that Ange really isn't the answer for us.

He very well may come in and prove me wrong, I * hope he does, but the risk here is absolutely massive for Celtic and from our point of view it is not a risk we should be taking at all.

Some of the most naive, appalling and utterly laughable defending you'll see..

The keeper below after. Wow. Then to still keep getting picked weekly I'm assuming?

I wish I hadn't watched those. The top one has put the fear of * in me..
