See the thing with Spurs, first half they’re amazing and second half they’re toothless at best.

Easy to say after what happened against Brighton, hardly a revelation there. However it’s not the first time they’ve looked poor second half. I don’t think they have the squad depth. Once they make a few subs there’s a marked drop off in quality. He needs a few more players in. Relying too much on kids atm and, although they look promising prospects, they’re not doing the business. Too much is being asked of them right now.

I think they’d be foolish to get rid of Ange

 

He does a spectacular Rodgers; but I've honestly never liked his Ange. Genuinely don't think he sounds anything like him. The trophies in the background made me laugh, though.

That’s going back to a time he was a young player in a Liverpool and Chelsea team who had brilliant strikers in front of him, won’t judge him on that. it was between Toney and solanke Ange said and solanke was the better all round option of the 2 I’d say. Last few seasons he’s become a good goal scorer down there

I also think Spurs need to know what they are.

They are a club that is not going to finish above 6th or below 10th.

They'll sack him but I guarantee you that he'd win the league at City. Spurs just can't do what he wants them to do.

 

Even if they're tripling your wages at a minimum and if you get sacked, you get a multi pound severance?

 

And no expectation to win anything.

Playing devil's advocate here then surely he should adapt...I mean lots of people could win at City...did he adapt for the Australian national team?

 

He scored 4 in his first full season at Bournemouth in the PL at 22. He then scored well in the championship where Daryl Murphy was a superstar...

He's had 1 good season in the PL at 27. Absolute insanity to pay what they did.

 

£60 mil is what it costs to get an English quota striker now, even with his 1 good season you say. From what I’ve seen of him he’ll do well for them in that system and gives them a different option. The next step up from him you’re talking £100 mil players….who realistically are they signing? I do agree it’s a lot of money, but I don’t see who else they could have got for a heavy sum that would be adequate.

also spurs fans being spurs fans they wanted “big money” spent on a Harry Kane replacement. If Ange had come back up here for kyogo and spent £20 mil they’d have been in uproar about it

 

Could probably have got Watkins for similar although Villa understandably wouldn't want to sell to a rival.

Like you say he might do fine in that system but he should be a back up at best and certainly not for the money they paid.

Alvarez went for about £16m more which sums up how much they were robbed. Multiple levels between the two.

 

Solanke don't rate him they could got much better for same price

 

Ange's style of all out attack was always going to be problematic with Spurs in the EPL, and I go along with the suggestion that his lack of in game pragmatism is killing him and Spurs. Solanke is a good player, but way overpriced at £65M and I did not rate Tim Werner at all. Ange's obstinate stubborness in tactics and formation blighted us in the Champions League, along with his chronic refusal to sign a top class defensive midfielder, so I am not surprised to see it is causing him similar, severe issues at White Hart Lane after doing so well last year.

He needs to change and quick, and can become more flexible and adaptable in his footballing philosophy in my opinion, or it will be his undoing.

For me he has the resources at spurs to find players who can fit his system. Just not used them wisely. Then you've got the already negative owner and fans

 

No chance, Villa will want £100 mil for Watkins and they’re not skint either! Hm not sure on Alvarez, He’s obviously a great player but I agree both are vastly overpriced but that’s just the market nowadays unfortunately.

Maybe someone like guirassy would have been better under £20 mil like dortmund got him for but I feel it’s always a risk getting in a striker from another league, don’t always hit the ground running do they
