Good question. I wonder whether the club, or his wife, have taken a new approach.

I usually couldn't care less about managers or players once they leave but I was really impressed with Ange attitude on the Romero head injury on Sunday. The medical team were not happy and despite the player insisting he wanted to play on Ange insisted he come off. That was top management and player welfare comes first. Not too many are so decisive do fair play to him for that. When asked how long he might be out he said 'mate that's were I shut up and let the Doctors do their job'. Top stuff.

No, Nom de Plum is quite right. I was saying that it is delusional to say that that particular Ange Postecoclou Celtic team, i.e. the one that supposedly "went toe to toe" with real Madrid, would beat this Tottenham team. I was responding to what you said here:

I think it's delusional on two counts.

Firstly, Real did what we often do domestically: wait until we could no longer sustain the insane amounts of energy we were putting into the game and then picked us off. This was a very comfortable win for them in the end. Technically, we went toe to toe with them for maybe an hour; but it didn't really work out for us. We could have played that game 10 times and we'd have comfortably lost all 10 playing like that.

Secondly, and more importantly, the Celtic team that played that night really wouldn't stand much chance against the current Spurs team. Look at it realistically. Our best defender (and the best defender at the club by a distance) was not even deemed good enough to grace their bench. Our goalkeeper that night did grace their bench briefly and was widely criticised as not good enough to do so. The second best goalkeeper I've seen at Celtic in my life and the best of the last decade and a half (Fraser Forster) is ONLY good enough to sit on their bench. There's a genuine debate about whether Kyogo (our best striker since Dembele and second best since Larsson) would even interest Spurs (and if he did, which I frankly doubt, it would only be as a one-season stop gap).

This is not some Southampton or Bournmouth. This is a club that reached a CL final only a few years ago and they're in a different league from us in more ways than one.

That Bissouma is gonna be some player in Ange's system. I know he's was good at Brighton, but think he'll go to another level this season. Best player on the pitch vs Barcelona.

Been listening to the BBC radio commentary online while doing other things and they've not stopped singing that song the whole game. They f***ing love him already. Genuinely also quite impressed with the atmosphere they've created.

Big result that. Not sure how they achieved it given the manager came from the Scottish leagues?

Good start for the big man. Spurs still not fully adapted to the style yet but still managed to play some lovely stuff and take a big scalp.

Wow. You really can’t blame him for taking that job on when you see that. Whereas we are heading to the mighty Killie to play on Astro tomorrow :56:
