Ange Postecoglou has shut down "cryptic" Tottenham links insisting he is fully focused on landing Celtic a treble.

The Hoops boss has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in recent days with the Premier League outfit missing out on their No1 target Arne Slot from Feyenoord.

Reports in England claim the former Australia head coach has become a primary target for the Premier League club but the situation is not new to Postecoglou after a season of speculation.

Speaking after lifting the league title today Postecoglou said on Sky Sports: "I've been pretty straightforward (about the rumours), there's nothing cryptic in my messages. We've got one game to go. I'm not talking about next year until we win next week. That's our goal, we've got to win this cup.

"I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to do something special, to win a Treble. I know people have done it and greater things but I'm not going to look past that. I really want us to finish strong. It's not going to be an easy game, it's a cup final. We're determined to get it done."

Speaking earlier this week, the Aussie said: “It’s happened in the past, I have been pretty clear it’s just not the way I think and work.

“My priority right now is just making sure we have a special day on Saturday and we have a cup final coming up in a week’s time.

“I’m not going to sit there and get distracted by things that are kind of fascinating for other people rather than myself.

“That’s where my focus is and where it will continue to be. We have had a fantastic season and we have an opportunity to make it a really special one.”

If the rumours are all just bollocks, or he's already agreed terms with spurs, I don't think he says anything different this week, there's no point trying to read into his interviews, he never really gives anything away.

Hes saving his cup speech where he rips his jumper off to reveal a Tshirt with the words I'm not * leaving. The cheer will blow the roof off. Then announces a 4 year contract.

 

He’s a hard man to read, but didn’t sound or seem like it was a farewell from him

Fairly non-committal but could be keeping options open and his comments about after the cup final could equally be teasing a new contract

 

I was at the game today, thought he may have addressed the rumours, but totally understand why he didn't. Has a big game to take care of next Saturday.

I think he will leave for Spurs to be honest. I'll be * gutted. The only thing I'm clinging on to is the Eddie Howe comparison with the bookies odds when he was linked with us, he was heavy favourite as Ange is with them.

He woulda mentioned it today if he wasn't interested at all and quash the rumours so we can move on to the World Breaking Treble.

He had the chance in February with Leeds and he didn't and for that he has my upmost respect. We wish him well. He will come back for a few players perhaps but I know spurs have a committee who sign the players he is an ambitious guy and I wish him well

4 year contract say on at least double the money, and gets blown out after 12 months. Young family and made for life. Just a mercenary viewpoint. Could earn 8 years wages at Celtic in a year….. I’m self employed I think that way sometimes tbh. Who knows lol.
