Because that instantly rules him out to clubs who are looking, and no one would do that for a potential job that instantly gives you 3x your wage.

ANGE POSTECOGLOU has revealed his thoughts on his future plans after emerging as Tottenham Hotspur's 'primary managerial candidate'.

The Celtic boss leapt to the top of Daniel Levy's wishlist yesterday when it emerged Feyenoord boss Arne Slot would be staying in Rotterdam for a further season.

It is the latest link for the Celticmanager who has been mentioned with many of the vacancies south of the border - including Leeds, Everton and Chelsea.

But on the eve of his side lifting their second SPFL Premiership title, Postecoglou has addressed the latest talk over Tottenham.

He said: "I’ve been asked about these things plenty – and yet I’m still here.

"It doesn’t [come onto my radar] and anyone who knows me knows whats important is the here and now – I've never planned anything in my football career.

My ambitions are to enjoy tomorrow and then try to win a cup final and make it a special year.

"It’s not every year you have the opportunity to win a treble and if anyone thinks I’m thinking anything other than that they don’t know me.”

"I know that’s not how football works. You can’t as manager chart a course to be in a certain position at the certain time."

But Postecoglou insists he is plotting the final piece of the Hoops' treble against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Hampden next weekend and in the meantime he's focused on lifting some silverware tomorrow.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, he added “What I do know 100 percent if you’re not concentrated in the task at hand your destiny is quickly taken out of your hands.

"I've worked really hard to be in this position. Whatever happens in my career from here, it will happen because I am doing what I am doing really well."

"Celtic fans want their manager to be concentrated on what is important."

An incoming Australian link at Spurs has sent fans into over-drive with Scott Munn appointed the club's director of football.

The Australian used to work for City group - as Postecoglou did - and starts his job this summer.

Postecoglou's credentials have been given the stamp of approval by White Hart Lane legend Harry Redknapp - but ex-Premier League players Mark Bosnich and Neil Lennon have also cautionedhim over the role.

I hope you're right.. the only real reason people are giving that he would stay is a crack to succeed in cl (out of group).. if the word is true that big players will be sold that's really not gonna realistically happen. Let's just hope the city group can throw us the next postecoglu or arteta

Spurs were wanting the manager of Feyenord ,Arne Slot , he fuked them off, so they are trying for Ange .

Hes never ruled himself out. He's responded the exact same way to Brighton, Leeds, Everton. I don't know what people were expecting

...except for you know, when he came to us as second choice after Howe being top target for ages.

Has never really sounded overly committed when asked about other roles tbh. Always kind of just focusing on the next game. That’s his mentality to be fair, but it does leave the door open to leaving.

If he left for Spurs I couldn’t possibly blame him. We need to accept the reality of our current position in world football

100%, he's been here nearly two years and some of our fans still don't know how he acts when it comes to questions from the gutter press, have they just not been paying attention? He gives them nothing.

If/when he does leave us, he's not confirming it with these tramps random questions in a pre-game presser.
