A learning curve this season in the champions league but I dunno…might need to be pragmatic and have another game plan/tactic up sleeves. Need to be able to mix it up i reckon

Aye, this is what I fear tbh: a repeat of the yearly drubbings under Rodgers, with the manager’s stubbornness yielding no progress at all.

No comparison in the drubbings we took under the rat to this campaign.

The shortcomings in this one are clear for all to see but they are mostly player related not Manager related, he can’t put the baw in the back of the net for them from the dugout. And even at that some of it is down to lack of breaks and luck whilst a large chunk is simply * finishing.

Hard to disagree. There will be debates over Ange's style in Europe, but nobody can deny that we created a very high number of chances across all matches and, in spite of some disappointing defeats, weren't pumped by embarrassing score lines.

There's no doubt that the campaign has been a failure in terms of making the impact we set out to do, but when you're only converting 3 out of 60+ shots, we're giving ourselves no chance before anything to do with tactics even comes into it.

The reason why we aren’t converting chances is at least in part due to us typically playing with one striker instead of two.

Ange should not have changed the formation in the second half. His (typical) plan B was working better than plan A.

Going by some of the results in this group it turned out to be a much tougher group than expected and typical of our luck Leipzig brought in rose to rejuvenate them and mudryk well what a talent reminded me of wirtz for Bayer lev those types of players hurt you if they get a shred of a chance! Most in here would complain we went down in Europe without throwing a jab we more than matched teams in terms of chances we just couldn't find the net we are a team very much building towards something very very exciting we played alot of games without starfelt and calmac Jota etc individual mistakes cost us at times but I have full faith we'll win a European como under ange if he stays with us long enough

I think Europa League is where we are at present in terms of capabilities to competes successfully. CL teams are there every year because they have the big budgets to do so.

Ange is going nowhere. He is on a mission to make a mark in Europe with Celtic FC. He will have access to this each season by staying in Scotland.

When I saw the line up I was excited. It looked a compact 4-2-3-1 with a strong defence and potentially a strong attack. Forrest should have come on a lot earlier.

The key moment that lost us the game was Ange adding a midfielder and removing a striker. It removed a lot of the pressure on their carded CB-s, and made us way slower in transition.

The correct thing to do, if Kyogo had to go (and I understand that decision), was to join Maeda up top with GG. Yes, he misses chances, but maybe he could've gotten lucky, or assisted. Bernabei left instead of Hakšabanović. Forrest on the right was fine. Mooy instead of O'Riley or Hatate- never alongside them. We had one unused sub, and that should have been Ralston instead of Juranović.

Ange makes these subs, and Shakhtar would have been defending with way more desperation. We let them have a relatively easy last 20 minutes.

Alternative option: switch Abada to play striker alongside GG, and introduce Maeda to the right wing. Going 1 up top was a blunder.

Even though we only got 2 points so far, im very satisfied with what i have seen. We must be up there with the top teams when it comes to chances created. We have competed much, much more than what we have in recent years.

I thought we played some brilliant stuff and it's a vast improvement on the last time we got to the CL.

If our finishing was better we'd of had a few more points..

Red bull results are what absolutely killed us..

Before I saw the line up, I had seen the players run out of the tunnel, with both Kyogo and GG there. My mind went straight away to a 4-4-2 line up, with both of them up front.

Seeing the lineup gave me hope, and it was justified. Ange sadly, reverted to the usual formation.

The press in Europe at times is easily cut through. Always thought it was to aggressive. And with fitness levels dropping after 60mins or so, thinks it needs tweaked. Found a good thread (finally) that explains it well.

Also think we need some quicker players in the middle to compliment Ange's style.

It has to be noted that Shakhtar only made one sub until the very last minutes oif the game. Might suggest they are fitter than us, or at least, able to conserve energy better.
