Ange is happy where he is, he has achieved so much in a short space of time but still has a lot to do, re- establish our selves in Europe is one thing he will want to oversee for starters. Besides, not saying Potter is a bad manager, in fact he is a name I threw in before Ange was appointed but what has Potter achieved? No doubt Chelsea will be paying him quite well but Ange going to Brighton to replace him ? Ange has International experience with Australia, won in Japan, is managing the Scottish Champions and taken them in to the CL. If I was Ange I would be offended, if Ange is approached by Brighton to replace Potter then you would be asking why was Ange not approached by Chelsea. Its all rumours and speculation to try and destable us and give the Huns a bit of positivity, they can't look to their own manager and team for that.

You wouldn't exactly blame the chap if he wanted to test himself in the epl. And set himself up well financially at the same time.

But it's a dangerous game. You only have to look at slippy G to see the potential pitfalls.

He'll probably be well aware that Celtic managers have a shelf life too, however. We haven't held onto a manager for more than 5 years since big jock was in the hot seat. And realistically only one of those managers was poached off us - Rodgers - the rest simply reached their sell by date. Such is the high pressure nature of this job, where 2nd place is seen by many as a catastrophic failure... you must win every year.

I don't get too attached to managers or even most players for this reason. There's just such a high turnover, you've got to prepare yourself mentally for the inevitable. Ange is no spring chicken either, so every manager will experience a decline in their powers as they get into their 60's. You'll get the occasional exception, who seem to age like a fine wine... but those ones are a rare breed.

What reports said he wasn't on their list? The report I read in the Torygraph was that he was interesting Brighton but that Ange had no interest in leaving Celtic

Was round about this time in his second year that Rodgers got the longer deal. I'd imagine we will see this with Ange.

    It really needs sorted.

ANGE POSTECOGLOU is reportedly a "strong contender" in the running for the vacant Brighton job.

The Celtic manager is said to be admired on the south coast by the Premier League outfit.

The Seagulls lost their boss Graham Potter midweek after the Englishman was unveiled as the successor to Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

This inevitably led to speculation about who would replace Potter at the Amex.

Brighton are said to be in early rounds of talks with Roberto De Zerbi.

However, according to The Sunday Times, Brighton remain keen on Postecoglou too.

The report states that the Australian is under "serious consideration" by the club's hierarchy as they carry out their background work on all of their list of potential candidates.

Postecoglou's record since joining Celtic has impressed the EPL side, with the 57-year-old winning two trophies in his debut season, as well as securing Champions League football for this term.

The report also states that Postecoglou's success rate with signings has caught their eye.

All of that said, De Zerbi appears to be the frontrunner for the hot seat.

Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen is also reportedly among the top contenders for the job.

    Ange isnt stupid.

And hes certainly not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. He knows hes "fortunate" that we took an informed gamble on him.

This isnt like BR itching to get back to the epl, or Lennon flipping out over a transfer budget.
Ange has only begun to build his rep in europe

Ange left Japan because of the unbelievable opportunity he was afforded by ourselves. Hes still building something here, and he knows a club like Brighton is far more likely to break his reputation rather than make it.

Lets be honest, theyre a small club in a big league and having been punching above their weight for sometime now.
Every season theyre a * hair away from a relegation fight.

When he does eventually leave, it wont be for * Brighton.

    From the daily record

Ange Postecoglou 'not interested' in Celtic exit as Brighton look elsewhere for next boss
The 57-year-old has been considered by the managerless Seagulls but they have not had much in the way of encouragement.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is not interested in succeeding Graham Potter as manager of Brighton, according to a report.

The 57-year-old has been eyed by the managerless Seagulls as owner Tony Bloom and his hierarchy search for an inspired successor to Graham Potter after he left for Chelsea. The Telegraph state Brighton have been intrigued by the Australian but it's understood the Celtic boss will not "abandon" his work in Glasgow's east end.

Postecoglou's firm stance means Brighton have cast their net wide with Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen and Italian Roberto De Zerbi the frontrunners to succeed Potter on the south coast. Bloom, Paul Barber and David Weir reportedly do not want to rush their hunt as they comb over a host of viable candidates.

Absolutely no way Ange was leaving for Brighton. But........ what this made me realise (even though I suppose I always knew) is that he will be linked to every job in England while here and ultimately he will take one of them. And none of us could begrudge him that if he stays here for another few years. But * we will never get someone who has done as much as he has in such a short space of time to replace him. Enjoy Ange while we can is the moral of the story here......

    Delighted.

We do really need to get him on a long term contract.
