Andreas Hinkel... signed?

I didn't think so (lb), i've always felt wilson is our weekest link, I'd have Caldwell at RB before him, my only problem with caldwell is when he comes inside, * liability.
I honestly think Wilson will return to dundee utd. or the likes before long.
The european teams always targeted his side.

cant judge Wilson. He has almost never been fit since he moved to RB. He was excellent in his first half season at LB and I am sure he is better on the right. If he can get and stay fit I think he will do very well. He has a good football brain and he has very decent pace when fit.

Seen him a few times with the german national team. And in the champions league with stuttgart. A very good signing that can play left and right back.

Keltoi as far as i'm concerned if you're in the team you should be judged. If you are unfit or returning to form you should be in the reserves, you can't always use these excuses for guys who are simply not celtic class.
WGS can build a great team, win over all the fans and become a legend IF he stops standing by players simply because he likes them personally. If they are pish then they are pish, accept your error and rectify it.

 

thats pish. MON made loads of bad decisions regarding players but didnt stunt his popularity. look at man u keane disagreed with ferguson and was sold. same with beckham, van nistelrooy and others. the manager can put out whoever he likes on the pitch.

Celtic are supposedly interested in out of favour saville fullback Andreas Hinkel. The ex Stuttgart player would cost an estimated 1.5 mil. But does not know weather to move back to Germany or not regardless of how much cash he is offered. I myself know nothing about him, do any you guys know? What are you`r thoughts on this anyway?

i´m a german supporter of VfB Stuttgart and sometimes with pleasure here in your forum.
Let me try to answer some questions about Andreas Hinkel, maybe i can help you with ur opinion about him...

Hinkel is originally a RB !! He played very rarely the LB position. Hinkel had his best time in his career until today while he were playin´with Hildebrand, Kuranyi, Hleb in 2002-2005 including the Champions League Season beating ManU & Co.

This was the time when he went a german international.

2 years ago he was transferred to Sevilla FC, in spite of VfB Stuttgart wanted him stay, but Hinkel wanted to look after a "new challenge out of Germany".

The reason because he´s got not so much matches in the primera division is that he couldn´t get over Dani Alves, who plays Hinkels position very well in Sevilla for years.

About the player skills: He is a very offensive RB, searching for many runs down the right line, looking for good crosses. If he can repeat the strength of 2002-2005 he would be a great transfer for Celtic! Actually, you have to hope that...

Well, i wish you and your club the very best, i don´t know if YOU know, but Celtic has got many sympathies in Stuttgart!!

I heard a couple of times he is a right back. That makes me less idsappointed. Its a LB we need. The RB problem will sort itself soon and Gary is not doing too bad. LB is a disaster area though and we cant risk having only one guy there. We cant justify signing a RB permanently when we have already got Wilson, Doumbe, Caddis and even Gary in an emergency. We have to prioritise areas and LB, CB, striker and winger come ahead IMO.

 

Spanish "ElDesMarque" say Peter Lawell is going to meet Sevilla board on friday to negotiate transfer fee for Hinkel. Hinkel should sign the contract next week...
