SHAKHTAR WANT FULL VALUE FOR TIMOSHCHUK

Shakhtar Donetsk manager Mircea Lucescu has opened the door for Anatoly
Tymoshchuk to join Celtic - but insists the deal must be worth almost
#7million.
The 27-year-old Ukraine international has told Lucescu he is more interested
in joining the Hoops than Feyenoord, who have seen their latest bid rejected.
Lucescu told the Daily Record: ``I have had a long talk with the player and I
am sure he wants to go to Scotland.
``He said he wants to play in Britain and likes the idea of Celtic more than
Feyenoord.''
But Lucescu maintains Celtic must increase an initial offer - believed to be
around #3million - for the midfielder.
He added: ``Celtic have offered us hardly anything. I have promised him I will
let him go because he wants to have an international career.
``But, if I let him go for this kind of money, then the value of all the
players at my club will drop by half.''
He added: ``He has 60 or 70 caps and is one of the best defensive midfield
players in the world.
``So how is it possible that I can accept losing my captain for four million
euros? The price is 10million Euros minimum.''

 

I dont mean to sound like a spoil sport here but is this not another ploy by the board. I mean bidding for players that they know we have no chance of signing then plastering it all over the place then only bid half of the players valualtion. Then saying well we tried to sign the player but they were asking for far to much money but we did try. When the fans moan about not signing anyone the board say well we tried to sign players. Trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

 

funny enough i was thinking the same myself,it's a way of keeping the fans quite so it looks like they are actively persuing quality signings

would love to get tymo aswell, him JVOH and a cheap LB and im happy but the gd old board eh

will b funny to see the gap in quality between them and the guys we actually do sign b4 the deadline prob some loan deal or sumfin or some out of contract dud, thats if we sign anyone.

2 or 3 players in the right posistions and we have a team capable of having a gd crack at Europe, why cant the board see theyll get theyre money back!

 

From what i have seen and read, Celtic will get there money back no problem if we invest and get this player, he is world class. I hear we are now interested in Jason Koumas, that is some drop in quality, its so frustrating sometimes. I would prefer to see us using our young players rather than getting in anymore journey men!

I've heard that Shakhtar wont accept anything less than 10million EUROS, which is about £6.5m.. I really cant see us getting him, despite him wanting to join us.

 

Roy Keane's wages were too high aswell.

With a will there is a way, if Celtic really want him here, they'll get him here

 

i don't think they expect us to match that but they are just hoping for a little more,they are probably hoping we will reach them somewere in the middle.

at least one thing bodes positive .. the guy would rather come to us than his other option team feyenoord who interested also ... so that eliminates the competition straight away unless some one else enters the race .... but i think we just need to meet a decent valuation for this guy .. he is world class. and worth 5m.. if he comes it would be really major.
