I thought taking off our only out ball tonight and bringing on a small guy to punt the ball to didn't make much sense. Balde seemed to be better suited. Not sure why but he clearly isn't fancied at the moment

I disagree, playing against his parent club was bad but the way he acted in the game at parkhead ensures he won't play again. Disgracefully rolling around and play acting to try and get Wilson sent off.

Hopefully Balde gets a chance soon though, I'm sure he will get a fair few games in the league over the course of the season.

Did Lennon say Balde was a "project" or something like that when we first signed him?

Just curious. I personally haven't seen him play yet so I can't judge him.

Aye, game was designed for him, especially when you have Mulgrew at LM. Supply is there...just no end product.

If I'm bangura I would have played as well to prove a point! What better chance to prove to the team that didnt gice you a chance your good enough!
Also we didn't agree to him not playing, elfsborg pay for his wages and he had every right to play.
Definetly hope balde gets a fair chance though

who are you trying to say is lennon's favorite. Stokes certainly isn't one of them, and Sammy has proven himself as one our better champions league players.

Anyone who thinks Stokes is a 'favourite' of Lennon needs to have a word with themselves :smiley-laughing002:

The amount of times Stokes has been overlooked in the past three seasons for European games and matches against the dead club is unbelievable.

Hooper was Lennon's favourite, and he justified that tag by scoring 80+ goals in 130 odd games. Stokes will get more chances now that Hooper has left, but it doesn't automatically make him a 'favourite'.

Today Sammy comes off, Balde should have been the man to come on..a player with height and strength since any ball we had was booted forward. And if there was an onslaught at the end we need a big guy to get back and defend as well, as Sammy does when we sit back. We got away with it today but the substitution seemed baffling.

i would have had samaras on left and had balde up top tonight i felt we lacked attacking creativity down the left tonight and relied to much on the right side

The main point I was making was the way he acted. Trying to get someone unfairly sent off due to your theatrics has not in anyway helped him as far as his Celtic career is concerned.

I said playing against us was bad but I didn't and still don't hate him for that, I lay the blame at our door for letting it happen.

Have to ask our Scouts can pull gems like big Vic....you assume they're onto it with big Balde.....but it seems hes not worthy of a sub on. How did Vic get on when he arrived?

Would really think he'll get to develop in spl games....surely.
