Amido is going to be another Bangura, without doubt.

When asked about the striker he'd liked to bring in on Sky Sports in studio, Lennon said "someone that can lead the line".

Isn't that exactly what Balde was brought in to do? He also didn't once mention Balde.

His tea may already be out.

Don't know what the score is with Balde. I understand Watt coming on because he gets played out on the left regularly. However, we were needing a goal with only ten minutes left and still no sign of our near £2 million striker.

    Very worrying.

But people were wanting Stokes replaced with him and then look what happened. :icon_mrgreen:

Exactly this. Balde was signed over Russell as he is a different option, in Lennon's own words.

We didn't need a powerhouse up top we needed a bit of guile and Stokes provided it. Job done.

Give me a P, give me an R, give me an O, give me a J, give me an E, give me a C, give me a T.

That's what Amido Balde, unfortunately, will become. Another failed 'project'. A £2million one at that.

Exactly. It just goes to show Lenny knows what he is doing. He got a good look at him in pre-season so he knows where he is at. Balde will get his chance, and if he doesn't take it, he'll be on the bench.

I think his decision not shove on Balde was justified.

It would have been purely a panic decision without much thought going into it, we would have had Watt, Stokes and Balde all on at the same time which would have completely disrupted our shape and style.

Alternatively it could have been Stokes coming off , however as he scored the winner surely that proved Lennon right to keep him on.

What are you basing 'failed' on? Wanyama was a project, was he considered a failed project without playing a full 90 minutes?

I wouldn't have taken Stokes off to be fair, was wanting two strikers on the pitch.

Ay, it's a pity this needs to be emphasised though.....

Some of the people questioning whether he actually knows what he's doing need to cop themselves on..... or are probably just trolling morons.

Not a good sign if your balde who we've just forked out 2 mill to buy and you have a kid in front of you...

Might be reading too much into it but Lennon doesn't trust him, well not yet which is why he never took the gamble on him playing today...

Don't think the guy will make it here,if boerrigter hits form then where does sammy go(up top),then if we sign another striker, possibly 2 with stokes ahead of him and even watt just now that leaves a long road back for me..

I think Lenny will give him a go when we have a comfortable lead

To be fair, Watt went wide left today so we could keep our shape.

Stokes could have went left though and Balde up top if Lenny had faith in him so who knows...

To show the guy he's just bought that he's well in his plans he should have put stokesy out on the left and balde up top or even Forrest out left and commons right with stokes in behind balde...

I like watt though and even though its not his best position he plays out wide well left or right, pace, power thought he done well when he came on so who am I to judge we played well after a shaky start, lovely football at times, carved them open countless times and set our selfs up nicely for Wednesday

Stokes is Lenny's number 1 striker at the moment. That's why he didn't go left.

I think Watt has proven himself enough to be in front of any new signing. He has talent and scores in big games.

I can see why the worry is creeping in on here. We didn't see much of Bangura, and we all slowly realised it wasn't going to work out. But I say give it time, Amido will get his opportunity. There is no rush at the moment.
