  1. Fucksake nobody is claiming the guy is *! Why is it such a crime to have a feeling that it won't work out ? I'm sure the people who are thinking this want him to prove them wrong
I'm not like most people who it overly excited about the guy either and in still not... I've always made it clear I would have rather had Russell in and that we would regret it! And this isn't based on these two games this was when all the fuss about him signing Or not was happening

But I will give him a chance but for me personally I don't want it being another bangura situation

Everybody is entitled to think hes gona be good, average or utter *. some people will take what they have seen so far and make a judgement others will give more time. I think you need to take imto consideration what he has been bought to do however. I beleive he has not been brought.in to be our main goalscorer. I beleive hes here to take up what we would see as the chris sutton role, a target man, strength an power up front and to provide for team mates around him. Basing my opinion this I think ther is every chance he will succeed. He needs a lot of work and needs time to understand how the team plays how his team mates play but he has raw ability and defo has the pyhsical attributes

I think we have bought the right player for role that needed filled. If hooper leaves we wipl replace him but if he stays u will see hooper feed of balde once they work out how each other work. Time is key

  2. There is no comparison with Bangura.

  3. 3 goals over a season? give him a chance!

  4. Apparent cost of transfer - similar
    Position - similar
    Type of forward - different
Goal to game ratio in league for prior team - similar
Unknown to any of us * before reports started - similar
Look to have first touch reminiscent of Daver in 5 a side days - similar

  5. He might not even be a first-team regular. His height and strength might be useful attributes if we need to play a more direct style of football though, particularly in Europe if we need someone to hold the ball and keep posession for the team against better technical teams.

I'm not overly excited about him though. Prefer to see some more technically gifted players and youngsters coming through, but that's just a personal preference - I'd much prefer watching Maloney, Mcgeady type players than big target men, but that's not to say he won't score goals or do a job for us.

  6. I agree with all of this. :50: But I have ma fingers and toes crossed he will not turn out the same.

Don't think any of us have been impressed by what we have seen so far but I will reserve proper judgement until he has played a good few competitive games. Once the players around him are on top form giving him the right service(in these two early games he has had nothing to work with let's be honest, did miss a decent chance or two mind you) , he has his full match fitness back and knows the players he is playing with AND is settled in the country it could prove to be a quality addition, nobody knows for certain this early on how well he will do. All most people are going on is a "feeling" that they think he will be rank rotten:56:

One thing I am worried about is the fact that in these 2 early games we only seemed to be looking for him with long aimless punts up the park. Now, I know the guy is tall and he has been bought to give us some height up there, but I hope that doesn't mean that 9 times out of 10 we just punt it up to him. Not only is it * to watch when it is being done on a constant basis, but it is also relatively ineffective.

He apparently can play a bit with the ball at his feet(yes I know he hasn't shown that so far but it's 2 games ffs) so we should also be utilising that. With his height and strength he will be able to hold it up and bring others into play. Anyway, I don't think he will be a prolific goalscorer, he is not that kind of player I don't think, but he could prove useful. He gives us a different option anyway, time will tell just how well he can do.

  8. He's missed a couple of absolute sitters already, not impressed by his first touch either.

Forgot about those chances, anyway I'm hoping he turns out to be a good addition. We haven't had much luck with strikers lately.

  10. So now people are judging players that have signed purely on friendly matches, that havent even played one competive game yet? :smiley-laughing002:

  11. Presumably by watching the said friendly games them gaining an opinion on his performance.

    Just a guess, mind you.

  12. Dont know how you could get a good opinion on a player without them playing a competive game for the club yet.

  13. Even if it was two competitive games it would still be laughable. The lack of patience is ridiculous. I don't know if it's a reflection of modern society, the club we support and the demands that come with it, or people's lack of footballing knowledge.

  14. * * give the lad a chance to settle .

Based on some of the footage I seen of him playing for his previous club, I think he'll come good.

  16. Its unfortunatly a reflection on modern football.
I am guilty of this at times myself but after 2 games is taking it to the extreme.

New club, new surroundings, new team mates, new tactics, new bonds to be formed and a team going through the motions in a couple of early pre season matches...

Seems like a perfect reason to write a player off, shame on all of you who want to wait and see what the guy will be like.

  18. So, lets get this straight . After 2 friendlys there are some people willing to write him off already? I guess that's what happens when you put a laptop into the hands of a Neanderthal. I blame the parents lol
