if pukki or balde had have played for any other team in our league they would have been a success

teams sitting in against us 10 men behind the ball is what pukki found hard to play as a striker in

you could see it from the off he didn't like the packed defences he wasn't a natural no 9 for me, not good enough technically to be a no 10 him and stokes were similar players thats how they didnt perform well together they are both support strikers rather than the main goalscorer

but good luck to the guy, actually i think balde style would have been more suited for us but he hardly got the minutes

 

He always did need just a half chance.

I liked Balde, never got the chance he deserved - from what little minutes he got a decent return on goals.

 

This goal is just unreal.

 

He shoulda got more starts for us to make a proper judgement on him.

I think with games he could have came good, hes the type of striker we wanted, a big * who could win headers and bully defenders.

Hopefully he plays well on loan and comes back full of confidence, certainly has the physique to be a useful member in the squad.

I told ye, he should've been the secret weapon in Europe last season. When we were bringing on Pukki and Boerrigter and playing Stokes against teams like Milan, he's the sort of guy who'd have been able to ruffle up defenders.

But then Commons is so slow in playing in the strikers....what was it at the weekend 22 strikes and 2 goals.

If given the option to shoot or play Balde in on the keeper, Commons shoots 80% of the time.

Amazing strike, got an assist as well. Only played one game. Lets hope he rips the * out of the Belgian league.

 

Funny the amount of folk NOW saying he didn't get a fair chance, but when he was here the majority said he had his chance and * it. 1 to 10 minutes at the end of an odd game is nowhere near a fair shot. The guy tried too hard to impress in this time and it made him * at chances and almost panic. Way too much pressure out on him by Lennon, the media and the fans.

 

That goal was Balde all over. Controls it with his face and then smashes in a howitzer. :smiley-laughing002:

I think there are times when our fans need to be more patient with players. The media too. If a player signs for Celtic and struggles in their first 4 or 5 performances then their career here is usually finished before it started. There is a severe lack of patience amongst football fans and writers in this country.

Amido Balde is one of the players I think the fans and media were far too quick to dismiss as a flop. He never got a proper chance here to show what he could do.

dont believe they have an option to buy but to be honest i dont think his style of play is suited to scottish football

 

Yea I'm not sure either, always looked so clumsy and awkward on the ball but if he has a great season in Belgium I'd have him straight back.
