This thread better heat up when the season and fantasy football starts again!

 

For a change the Raiders actually looked to have made some good picks. Carr has promise for the future at QB and will have time to learn under Schaub in the short term. Mack looks to be an immediate impact player on defense and Gabe Jackson looks like a good pick for the offensive line.

 

Rams take Michael Sam at 249. I thought he was going to go undrafted and maybe fall to the Ravens as an undrafted FA. Rams look good, especially their young DL.

 

What the *, the pick in the draft gets branded "Mr Irrelevant" each year? Why?!

They get a trophy that mimics the Heisman but the player is fumbling the ball? Is that a joke?

 

Delighted with the Ravens picks.

Now if they sign Eric Winston I'll be delighted.

 

Overall pretty happy with Dallas' draft. Loved the Martin pick, particularly as I was expecting Jerry to insist on Mr Football. Wanted Lawrence in the second though I'm not so happy about giving up the 3rd. Hadn't heard of Hitchens or Street but reasonably happy with them after reading up on them and watching a wee bit of film. Pleased with Smith and Bishop in the seventh and delighted at getting Dixon there as I mocked him to Dallas in the fourth so thought that was great value.
Hated Josh Huff going to Deebo as he was one of my pet cats.
Edit: Just watched the film on Terrance Mitchell on the NFL site and says they anticipate him being a second day draft pick so again we look to have got good value with that pick.

 

They call the last pick in the draft Mr Irrelevant because hardly anybody is ever watching by that point. And players taken that highly arn't likely to have a great career. Despite the name, its actually a brilliant way to get people to care a bit about that part of the draft

 

It seems really disrespectful though? Surely that player is absolutely gutted? Or is it taken in good fun over there?

 

Looking like Cleveland WR Josh Gordon is heading for a suspension(possibly a year long suspension) for substance abuse(marijuana). It's his second offence of this nature, hence the length of sentence. Suggestion is 8 games is the most likely outcome.

Some undrafted guys end up better off. If they get a couple of teams after them can end up making more than if they'd been drafted late in the seventh and get a say in where they end up.

 

Aye there has been some cracking undrafted players.

Antonio Gates, Arian Foster, Jeff Saturday, London Fletcher, Wes Welker, James Harrison, Warren Moon, Night Train Lane, Kurt Warner and even Tony Romo who plays like an undrafted free agent at times!

As far as I know, yeah. I got an e-mail through the other day the saying the league had been re-activated for this season. Looking forward to it. Hopefully we can get more people to take part in the live draft this time round, it was just me and Gronk last time.

 

Yeah I activated it a few days ago. Hopefully we can get a few more this year, there is definetely more than 8 who post in this thread regularly. Can't wait to beat you all

Also great to see Micheal Sam getting Drafted, the Rams really got a steal there, he should have gone a lot sooner but I guess too many teams weren't willing to deal with the backlash from some bigots, Co-defensive Player of the Year in the toughest division in College Football and has shown a lot of Talent he will do very well if he can stay healthy

 

I don't think he would of been a distraction in a locker room like the Ravens, always known to look out for each other. Would have handled it fine, after a week or so everyone will forget about it, people already are.

I'd love to be there for the live draft but I'll be working in America and got no idea when I'll have time off and if it will be a good time for you guys. Its a summer camp so time off doesn't come around too often.

Hahaha! Its in West Virginia so I'm safe! 3rd and last summer out there, gona try get to a preseason game again before I have to fly home!
