Boyata if I'd no option to pick. Wouldn't have either if I could though.

Boyata can't pass a ball ,gets skinned regularly and has as many lapses of concentration as Ambrose it ain't much of a choice Ambrose is a far better player

Boyata as I think he is the better defender. Last season was his first full season since joining City aswell I think so the mistakes he made he could possibly grow out of.

For it's a grand old team...
I would go with Boyata. I think he's cost us less and is a more commanding figure. I would prefer a back three of erik Toure and Jozo but Toure would help Boyata cut out mistakes I think

Should have a box for none of them , we really need to sign another decent centre half

Boyata and it's not even close at this stage.

    The argument with Efe is
"but look what he's capable of! He was in the team that beat Barcelona!"
And you'll get no arguments from me against that. On his game, Efe is class. However, as has been demonstrated on numerous occasions, Efe cannot be trusted. He * up EVERY GAME.

One that sticks in mind is the ducking dreadful attempted header back to Gordon against Fenerbahce, followed by him losing his man at a corner. We were 2-0 up on Fenerbahce and Efe made it 2-2.

Against the * LINCOLN RED IMPS FROM GIBRALTAR he looked uncomfortable all game and finally made the mistake that cost us a goal.

Against Astana in the away leg, he * up a clearance and forces an unbelievable save from Gordon. Later, he makes another mistake and forces a good save from Gordon at his near post. We pull it back to 1-1 and the game is in a very tense situation. If we can just hold out for 1-1 we are in an excellent position to go through. Astana get a late free kick. It's shoulders to the wheel, just * defend this free kick.

What happens? Efe Ambrose starts day dreaming. He literally stands still, loses his man (who has now moved to at least 8-10 yards away from Efe) and Efe's man misses a free header with the goal at his mercy from 5 yards.

That is what Efe gives you.

For the love of * Christ Oisin, Marky, Wanyama1967... Stop embarrassing yourselves. Efe Ambrose is * useless.

I think Boyata can still do well, considering his lack of first team football and fitness issues but he wont get a chance with Toure, Erik, O'Connell, Jozo and possibly Mulgrew ahead of him. Want to see McCart at some stage as well.

A real thinker of a question. Both give me the absolute fear, and are prone to the odd howler or 5 in a game. But don't think there's ever been a player like Ambrose in our squad. Not that I can remember anyway ... Someone who * up on a consistent basis, and costs us in games, almost single handedly.
That being said, he must have something. 3 managers have picked him now.

Efe is done, he'll not line out again (hopefully) but Boyata has a chance to prove himself under Rodgers.

    Boyata, easily..

Boyata can still improve, Efe never will..

Both make mistakes, but Efe is now a known joke here because of the regularity of his..

Can't stand seeing boyata in the hoops now. I still think Ambrose is better. Idiotic more than likely but boyata does my head in more.
