Think his time is up TBH. Him and a few of the * players that are frequenting our team should be out the door. Build the team around Boruc, Mcgeady, Skippy, Broony and Caldwell and Hinkel. He has made far too many mistakes this year with team selections and standing by players when they are blatently not doing it :50:

You make the last 16 sound like the final.

    totally agree.
the last 16 is nothing to get too excited about. alex mcleish made it there, does that make him a better manager than MON??????

Exactly. Porto have got to the last 8 two years in a row, does that make them the World champions :31::56:

    Facts are this:

    * We've tossed away a 7 point lead in 5 months.

    * He's stayed faithful to under-achieving players when there are guys doing the business in the reserves that deserved a chance.

    * He's chopped and changed the team in away games for reasons that no one but him can usually comprehend and dropped people that are playing well for no reason to acommodate some baffling formations that almost never work.

He has to take the blame, no one else.

The thing that annoys me is the unwillingness to make changes in-play,it was obvious after 30 mins that the setup wasn't working especially Maloney.
It seems there is some sort of unwritten rule that WGS has, that states he can't change anything before the hour mark,he should have came off after 30 mins, if not definitely at half time.
If a player shows nothing in 45 mins,he will probably not show much more in the next 15.

it's painful to watch this Celtic side and it has been for some time now. the squad in
general is brimming with mediocrity. the board & Mr Strachan must shoulder the blame
for this. after all they are the ones at the helm. you cant blame the players if they
are not good enough for Celtic, it's all down to the people who bring them to our club.

to be fair he did explain why he managed to lead us to 3 iar : anyone could have, rangers have been utter pish the last 3 seasons. and i know they got to the final of the uefa cup, but they didnt play well enough to imo. they just played for 0-0 at home 1-0 away and luckily for them, it worked a few times.

and strachan has still not managed to get us an away result in europe, when is this going to end?

Can anyone that keeps bringing up the last 16 and 3IAR tell me that they are happy how we are playing and that they think the club is going in the right direction?

Or will they look objectivley and see that we defeated our neighbours in turmoil and carried a lot of luck in the European campaigns, far more luck than previous managers carried.

there's no getting through to them. they only see 3 in a row and the so-called brilliant european last 16s, what they don't see is the context in which it was done.

MON also achieved 9 points but was unfortunate not to qualify. another season we had both AC milan and barcelona in our group. manu at the time would have done well to qualify from that group.

You forget last years UEFA final. You dont just fluke yourway through something like 10 consecutive ties against good opposition. Rangers have a method that makes them hard to break down and its not just us who have struggled to do that. The last 16s were not luck. WGSs essentially recognised that we were outclassed by all but the bottom team in these groups and approached them in a similar way as Rangers did last year. It was ugly and knife edge but it was not just chance. WGS's tinkering and over thinking may not always be appropriate in the SPL but I think it was crucial in the CL.

If GS got it right yesterday which he obviously didnt celtic would have * them ,there was no penetration coming from midfield through Hartley and Crosas ,to defensive type players ,the wings wernt used the way they should have been ,and JVOH is an empty jersey .

Honestly after 15mins of watching that yesterday ,i seen celtic grab a hold of that game but where let down by the constant long ball game ,,GS must see that aswell ,he could have brought on McGeady as early as 30 mins into the game and gave him a free role ,that would have conquered the lack of mobility coming from the midfield ,,its all ifs and buts ,but there are players in that current team who have to be moved on .

If Mon had that luck people would hailing him as on par with Stein. So you are going to begrudge Gordon the fact that he succeeded in a the conditions given to him? Can you really hold it against him? Was the second game against Aalborg not unlucky to the highest degree?

Fact is that WGS has brought more consistent CL success with him than Mon had
