Anything over £6 million would be good business.

£8m at least, I'd say. Nice to see our board showing the ambition I was talking about yesterday though and not just selling to anyone to make a bit of profit, even for a player who doesn't always feature regularly.

Really pleased with the direction that Lawwell and co. are taking the club in these days :50:

Jeebus, 6m for Ki would be great. I hope Rubin come back in for him or this would be a real silly bit of buiness by Lawwell. It could also prove to be brilliant though. I`d be * delighted if we got 8m for him. * it, I will take him to Russia myself

If indeed this story is actually true

No quotes in the article, sounds like rubbish to me. Besides didn't he get injured playing for Korea and will miss the start of the season? Don't see someone forking out 6m+ for a crocked player.

If we manage to get £8m for Ki I'm assuming that will give NL £8 million to spend on players (I think he'll only be able to spend what he brings in). If we manage to raise another couple of million to take it to 10, then I see no reason why we can't qualify for the group stages of the CL. A top centre forward and an attacking midfielder are the priority, and I wouldn't mind a commanding centre back as competition for Rogne and Mulgrew.

The best thing about having a disposable asset such as Ki means if we don't manage to qualify for Europe he will offset the financial loss to the club.

In an ideal world we qualify AND we cash in on Ki and 1 or 2 others then we rely on the scouting vehicle we now have in place to bring in quality replacements i.e. Kayal, Wanyama, Emilio etc etc...

Delighted with this. Even though I think £6m would be a good deal, if we're gonna reject £6m for Ki, someone who isnt even first pick, then i wonder how much we'd reject for players like Wanyama, Kayal, Hooper etc.

Wouldn't even need to replace him I don't think. Means Kayal, Wanyama, Ledley and Brown can be the 4 senior central midfielders, with McGeouch as backup. 5 is fine.

Would like to see an attacking midfielder brought in though, someone in the mould of Sigurdsson at Swansea (I know we can't afford him, just mean someone in that mould) or maybe a Hugo Viana type.

Just think of how much our market would broaden if we sold him off for £8m, or perhaps even more. We would actually be able to waltz into the French, Dutch and Italian leagues and look at bringing in a proper, experienced target man, something we've not been able to do since the heady days of MON.

Our midfield is fine as it is, with more than enough quality players in there. It is the defence and attack that needs strengthened, along with the permanent signing of a goalkeeper (preferably Forster). A keeper, two strikers and two good centre backs before the new season, please.

I'm not just picking on you Eddie Bhoy but too many of our fans vastly under-appreciate our players and what the board and Lenny are trying to do here, it is more than just winning the league or trying to win one game in Europe...they are starting to build something which will last and will stand us in good stead for the next 10 or 15 years....
This is a long term project and that is why I am delighted the people in charge realise that we can get way, way, WAY more than 3 million for Ki.

    :50:

    Exactly this.

IMO he will go for around 9million. This is the perfect sale, if we keep him then we've got a good player who is easily one of the best in our division and easily good enough for the SPL and good enough for the lower-tempo European games.
But if we sell then we haven't lost a key player and have got a very nice amount of money to play with :50:

The differences between us and the huns (both dead and new) are staggering and hilarious,

WE TURNED DOWN MORE MONEY FOR ONE PLAYER THAN THE HUNS WERE BOUGHT AND KILLED FOR!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Is he still to do his military service? Is that for a year or sumthing, remember the player who iam sure was at fulham saying that he wasn't the same after that.

If we can get near 8m I hope we take it,as a lot people say 5th choice cm who in all honesty wouldn't be greatly missed(I do like ki but if we could pick a player to be sold for the greater good he would be my pick all week)and imo this would also help Mcgeough and twardzik development.

    I'm not picky.
If we get anything more than £6m for Ki we will be doing really well. I think it would definitely be crazy to turn an offer of £8m+ for him and I think out of all the midfielders we have I'd rather it be Ki than Brown, Ledley, Wanyama or Kayal.

Will be a fantastic piece of business again by the board.
