tax is paid on year-end profit not on each individial transfer made.
I've gone through Celtic's 2011 Financial Statements, its prepared under IFRS so they have to declare realised & unrealised fx gains and losses....there's nothing mentioned. Also the clubs banks are noted as the Co operative Bank and Allied Irish Bank - no mention of offshore accounts held.

Maybe other clubs do as you suggest but there's nothing in the Celtic financials indicating they do.

I was waiting on the FM thing as I had seen this as his wage on FM also and I assume thats where you originally got your figure.

When you make a statement it is up to you to back it up!
Otherwise I can just say Izzy is earning a twenty quid a week and you have to take it as fact unless you can find proof otherwise?

Ibrahim and Ki are worlds apart in terms of reputation.

hold on you are saying that Ki is on less than McGeouch? and FM really? they had us signing baba ect they do have a good bit of infomation right but wages no not really and am sure on FM it says he is on 1.4k a week

can you see a guy who brings so much money into the club taken 2k a week when you have others who are on so much more?

I never said it was a solid source.

If you care to believe he is on 17k per week. the do so. I simply post what I believe and I remember hearing/reading. I do not save every link I ever read and or hear. Also, sadly no matter what google phrase you use, its all just swansea news that comes up (I am not great with google)

Commercially viable players have agreements with clubs in terms of sharing the revenue.

I didnt use FM as a quote, but it seems acceptable that some people can use it to back something up, when when I do, I get shot down in flames? well fair enough. Believe what you will.

Tax/offshore - If you believe a club conducts all its business, not just Celtic, but any club in full view of HMRC when they can legally avoid tax, then you should probably think again.

If you say Izzy is earning 20 quid a week, and that is what you have heard/seen and you can recall every article you ever heard to seen than I am impressed. If you want to challenge my opinion, it is up to you to prove me wrong.

Not I said opinion, I have never stated it as FACT.

you make a fair point with regards to FM, but there's no way Ki is on £2k per week.

If a player as commercially viable as Ki is only earning £2k a week he's hired the one non-shark agent on the planet, and I say this as an (non football) agent.

Actually, I have just got confirmation that Ki earns a base salary of 5k USD per week before any performance based bonuses.

If an Admin PM's me I am happy to provide the source to put this matter to bed.

EDIT - any information I provide is extremely sensitive and should stay with the admin.

Yep, his basic salary may be only that but I dare say he get's a fair old wedge for image rights etc. If he is bringing in vast quantities of money from the Asian market then this is only fair.

I am not disputing that fact though, I agree with that. However, anything brought through Nike and Celtic will remain with Celtic unless there is a contract stating otherwise.

there is nothing in the clubs most recent financial statements to back up this claim. All club revenue has been declared, there is no mention of any offshore bank accounts, the auditors have signed off on the accounts.

As I said, tax is only payed on year end profits. Maybe other clubs carry on as you've suggested but it is clear celtic do not.

All I was meaning was that money would be guaranteed every week/month - it wasn't performance related.

I'm still shocked his salary was so low, I guess it's because we got him when he was so young and unproven in Europe.

Ok I got you, so you can choose your invoice date at any point during that time period. I think football teams should all trade in Zimbabwean Dollars :50:

Basically, as there will be an agreed time period in which the invoice can be sent out.

As the chap pointed out above though, there may just be no need if its a straight GBP transfer, but something tells me it is not as 6.3 million which is the reported figure seems a conversion from a USD agreed deal.

Note that Ho didn't refute that suggestion that he is Ki himself.

Eyes turn to Swansea's most popular fan forum..........

I for one will be sad to see him go, but if we get good money for him to service the debt then so be it.
