Exactly, we knew long before the Maribor game Stokes couldn't play as a line striker, so why did the board wait until after the Maribor game to let a Ronny spend any money on a striker?

Van Dijk getting pushed up front with 10 to play I have no problem with. When you are chasing a goal, and with time running out, it's a desperate situation. To be fair, Van Dijk looked a bigger threat than our attack minded players, only highlighting further that we were badly needing investment in the attacking department. We seen it last year in the Group Stages, where we carried almost no threat whatsoever. Hence why we scored only 2 goals. One a penalty, and one a deflection.

The solution was to get a more effective passing game and have two attackers playing off each other up front . The nonsense of having Virgil up front was when the chance fell to him just a few yards from goal he snatched at it and passed it back to their goalie . I would like to think one of our normal attackers would have scored .

I'm pretty sure we had made all our subs before they scored. Correct me if I'm wrong there, as I'm not 100% certain.

Van Dijk done the complete opposite of * at it, he took it down showing more composure than any of our attacking players had shown all game, and he ended up hitting it too well. Similar to the one against AC Milan last year. If he had snatched at it, it might well have went in, but he didn't, he couldn't have asked for a better contact.

He'll have lost me if we lose or draw to Aberdeen

The board should have backed Deila earlier, no doubt, when they didn't Deila should have adapted so he had the best tactics suited for the players he has out there.

It's extremely simple, play players where they play best.

He should have done this from the getgo.

The guy was probably brought in with the thought being that he tends to develop rather than buy and when that went * up they bought Scep to try and mull over some fans.

The first few games I'd say fair enough, he was assessing the team. It was criminal going into the Legia game with 2 central midfielders and no support for Pukki who was up front at the time and the Kris Commons, a midfielder, after the sending off.

His tactics after the sending off was school boy stuff as well.

I hope he gets it right, I have my reservations though, the board let him down badly but I also think he let himself down badly.

Nobody covers themselves in glory over the course of our qualifiers - except Callum McGregor of course.

Done us twice last year. McInnes has got them playing well, although they've won 2, lost 2 so far this season.

I'd grudgingly take a draw but a defeat would be sare to bear. Needs to get the team right and quit with the baffling decisions. Get right into them, like Dundee Utd.

Hit it too well , you have been listening to too many half wits that pose as commentators, surely if he had hit it better he would have scored . We had enough attacking players on the pitch to allow Ronnie to be able to play one close to Stokes . However I suppose if you know you have ruined the confidence of the attacking players, then your only option might be to show your lack of tactical awareness by gambling with a big defender .

I think you better watch the game back. Van Dijk couldn't have struck the ball any cleaner. He didn't * at it whatsoever. That's not through listening to anyone, it's a fact. He actually showed great composure to bring it down on his chest.

Listen , I think you are missing one small point , The ball came to Virgil only a few yards out from goal and he didn't score . We needed him to score that chance and he didn't .

Last season Stokes and Commons scored about 55 goals between them. Griffith joined in January and scored freely and was involved in many more goals . Whether they lost their confidence on their own or whether it is Deila's autocratic management style or team formation, these players like so many of their colleagues are mere shadows of the players they were last season .

If we had a good enough frontline, then we might not have needed to throw men forward late in the game. As I said, the fact that Van Dijk looked arguably our best attacking option when he went up top, only highlights how poor our attacking options were.
