I like this guy a lot. I hope he does add a wee bit more to his attacking game but he looks * solid at the moment. Great mentality too.

Will be interesting competition once Ralston is fit. First few games thought Johnston was quite attacking but not so much Wednesday and today.

Been a bit reserved/hesitant and no found his feet in the final third yet..

Looks a good player but needs unleashed a bit..or to have the confidence when attacking..

Could honestly say that about all our fullbacks bar Ralston tbh, always wished they offered more attack wise. It's why I've always rated Ralston, adds so much more to our attack than the rest do.

Not at the same level as Juranovic for me but every chance Ange can get him there if the improvement in GT is anything to go by.

Crossing wise Ralston wins hands down. Linking up around the box and getting in behind, probably Taylor..

Johnston gets forward well and inside....just hasn't shown that quality once he's got there, yet..

My worry is with Jura away we now have two similar RBs who I wouldn't say are technically as good as him. Few times in Europe Juranovic looked like one player who belonged there for us.

Then you see him play domestically :fear:

Nah I agree, we'll miss his pace and technicality, but I think as time goes on Johnston will be far more consistent than Juranovic ever was. Will he be as good as Juranovic was when he played at his best? I doubt it, but consistency wise I think Johnston will be clear.

Biggest benefit for me with Ralston is those defence splitting passes he does, seen Taylor start to do it recently too, don't think Jura ever attempted them, but Ralston was spot on with them.

Meant as in one OF the players that belonged there. McGregor, CCV, Jota and Juranovic probably those who looked most at home.

Honestly disagree with Jura, think he was completely outshined by Taylor in the CL this season. He has performed at that level but has also had some * stinkers.

Not just CL though. Thought he was one of our top 3 in the Europa last year against good opposition.

Again he had his moments for me mate, see the Bayer Leverkusen game he chipped the penalty? He had one of the worst performances I’ve seen in Europe that game. He got cocky as * after and kept running directly into ze Germans and losing it in dangerous places :56:

His first touch and possession play for us at that level, no doubt he fits in at that level, but he’s had some * shockers.

Few mistakes second half there and fell away, but good for the first hour or so.

His link up play with Mooy deserved a goal. Wonderful bit of football.

I personally think Juranovic is one of the most overrated players I've ever seen at the club. No doubt has the ability but he it's pointless if you don't use it on a consistent basis. Only turned up when he felt like it. I'll happily take AJ getting five 7 ratings in a row over JJ getting one 9 and four stinkers

I do like the much needed physicality he brings to the side.
Right now, he is learning the system, so he needs time, I do think it will come pretty quickly.
Would just like to see more of him in attack, he does seem sound defensively.

Noticed his cracking ball up the wing in the lead up to Turnbulls goal, was a Tony Ralston special.
