Brilliant. Loved every minute of that interview. Speaks with confidence. Has done his research and it's obviously been in the pipeline for a while. Sounds buzzing to be a Celtic player. Sneaky wee Haul Hail in there. Good lad :83::shamrock:

I just lit off some fireworks to celebrate the signing and one exploded in my face.

That's only if the player fails, it's nothing to do with him until it sours

Really impressed listening to how he speaks and the eagerness he has. Sometimes you hear that from a incoming player and it feels like it's just a line, but it feels more than just that with him. Welcome to Celtic!

Alistair Johnston shared a dressing-room with Victor Wanyama at CF Montreal, and the former Celtic midfielder told the Canadian defender that joining the Scottish champions would be the perfect move for him.

And the Kenyan internationalist, who scored 13 goals in 91 appearances for the Hoops during his two years at the club, also spoke about how special it was to play in front of the Celtic support.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Johnston said: “Agent Victor was on it from the get-go!

“I just remember a couple of months back, he actually brought up to me that he thought Celtic was the perfect fit for me. It’s funny because I thought, yes, I completely agree.

“A little bit later I got word that there was some interest there, and I talked to Victor a lot about it. He’s played at some massive clubs like Spurs, Southampton and Celtic, and he said that everyone else paled in comparison to Celtic.

He talked about the fanbase and said that everywhere you go, it’s ‘Hail, Hail!’, it’s constant and still to this day, when he runs into people, they remember him from his Celtic days and he finds that pretty crazy.

“He spoke so highly of the fanbase, and they said it’s one of the most passionate fanbases in the world, if not the most passionate.

“He said, ‘look, mate. It’s the perfect club for you. You’ll love it over there. They fit your style and how you want to play the game, and your passion for the game as well.’

“So hearing that glowing review from him really drove it home. We get along very well and he’s been an ultimate pro, and a very big cheerleader for Celtic all around the globe, so when he gave that glowing recommendation, I just knew this was the place I wanted to be, so I’m just really glad that it’s come to fruition.”

    * bless Victor for spreading the Hooped Gospel. Has Johnston ever played DMF? If Juranović doesn't leave, it'll be hard to get games in the RB slot. But we do need a tough-tackling DMF.

We had Jacob Lensky in the 00s, but played mostly with the youths. Not sure he even got a handful of first team appearances.
