We've raked in about £50 million over the last year, I'd like to think we'd be willing to spend £5 million on the right player.

 

Why waste it all away?

I'm all for improving the squad. However, I'd like Celtic to do it sensibly. No need for £5 million signings when we can pick up players of a similar ability for a fraction of the price.

Who says we can pick up players of a similar ability for cheaper? Hooper cost less but this guy looks better.

 

That money has to be used for other things, such as wages and running costs.

It would be utter stupidity to spend £5 million on a player at this point. Imagine he turns out to be a dud!

Yes but we've managed to cover those costs well in years gone by without getting £50 million in - now we have much more money than we usually have, therefore more is available to spend on personnel.

You could say that but imagine he signed and scored 30 goals in the SPL this season - which is more likely to happen really. Doubt he would be a dud.
