There once was a tim called Finnbo,
He made huns kiss his ring like Bilbo,
He said Celtic on twitter, sent Bhoys up the *
And now if he don't sign we'll go skitzo.

The impressive Heerenveen striker made waves in the Eredivisie last season and could be set to do the same, should Heerenveen keep him.

[IMG]Alfreð Finnbogason was a late singing last season, joining mid August, but would prove to be a decisive one for Marco van Basten’s SC Hereenveen. After joining for only €500,000 from Belgian side KSC Lokeren, he finished his first season in the Eredivisie with an astounding 24 goals in 31 games.
Standing 6’1″, Finnbogason is a capable target man, but his slight build makes him better picking his shots than challenging in the air. He’s fast and nimble, making him great at sneaking through defenses and slotting home. His right foot is something of clinical precision and the tool that netted him 17 of his goals for Heerenveen.
The main feature of the 24 year-old’s play style is the small amount of time he needs on the ball to score. A born finisher, he often goes for goal without taking a touch and always gives the ball just the bit of direction it needs, whether that be a bit of height to send it over a keeper coming to collect or a flick in whatever direction that makes the keeper hopeless to make a save. He needs no time to get his feet sorted out; even with massive amounts of pressure on him in the box, he’s ready to coolly place it exactly where the keeper doesn’t want him to.
The young Icelander is the kind of player who will just never let a goalscoring opportunity pass by without being capitalised upon. Where most players would be forgiven for missing due to a lack of time or space, Finnbogason makes it happen, popping up exactly where needed every time. He never looks off kilter, utter composure.
Needless to say, SC Heerenveen are keen to keep their star striker for at least one more season. With one season of experience under his belt, there’s no doubt that Finnbogason is ready to come back and light up the Eredivisie next season, should he stay. The club values the player at at least €5M, as shown when they rejected Werder Bremen’s smaller bid, with the club’s director stating, “It comes nowhere near the neighborhood of five million, I brushed it aside”. FC Augsburg also made a similar offer but, like the previous German club, it was rejected for being far to disparate to the asking price.
The Icelandic international downplayed talks of transfers by saying that his focus is with Heerenveen, but if the right offer comes along, any player can be swayed. New rumours are that Celtic have made a €7M bid for the striker, enough to get Heerenveen talking. If the rumours are true, Finnbogason will have to make a decision between Champions League football with Celtic, but weaker league opponents and being challenged week-in-week-out in the Eredivisie.
While it’s unclear where he’ll be next season, Finnbogason is likely to make a huge impact wherever he goes.

In the land of lookalikes he looks a closer fit to be fair (Lowry, I mean.)
