Some fans think big pete is being smart running the club smoothly keeping us debt free i think he is a stingy basterd to be honest im all for dont spend money u dont have im all for not doing silly things to put the club at risk in the future but considering how much wages we have freed and the money we have generated recently to put in * offers for quality players who would make a big difference to our team just shows how fcking stingy of a board we have no doubt the players we do sign we will be relying on a 2 mins youtube video and going hmm who is he ?? starting to now get really fed up with how long this is dragging on without any replacement for hooper wilson or wanyama .

It has dragged on a wee bit aye, I dunno if players are waiting to see what happens with us and the CL. Even when we didn't qualify players still came and used the CL as a factor to come cos eventually they'd get there with us even if it took a year more than they thought etc. Disappointed in the board tbh, no way did they really believe around £2m would seal the deal for Finnbogason. I appreciate you always go in with a lower opening bid but I just don't really see is matching the £5m if our opening bid was less than half that. Hope to christ I'm wrong though.

"The Parkhead club can still add one more signing to their squad for the Champions League play-off games against Shakhter Karagandy.

But, with Lennon and his players scheduled to leave for Kazakhstan straight after their SPFL game against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Saturday, and with time fast running out to obtain a visa, it's now considered unlikely any new signing would be brought on board in time for Tuesday's tie.

To be eligible for the second leg at Parkhead on August 28, any new arrival would have to be registered by Monday next week."

So, some of you still think Celtic will sign him before the CL game?
Clearly, we won't be signing anyone at all until at least half time in the 2nd leg.
    Just chill until then.

Van Dijk ? We only really need one more signing. A goal scorer.

Van dijk is not a replacement for wilson if anything he was a replacement for rogne we lost rogne and wilson steven M is well known for injuries and van dijk already is injured we need another CB either that or muldini gets played out of position half the season and we spend our season tinkering/rotating instead of just buying whats needed

This seems to be draggging on & its not like us to have our signings out there in the open

I would say Mouyokolo is a replacement for Rogne

wilson was our main centre back he has only just left the club no one has been bought to replace him wanyamas contribution to our club and the job he done in europe alone was phenomenal hoopers goals will be missed POINT being none have actually been replaced we bought a winger thats good we needed a winger but we havent replaced important men we lost

How can anyone argue that the signings of van Dijk, Boerrigter and Balde are to replace Wilson, Wanyama and Hooper?

    No chance.

We dont need a replacement for Wanyama because we are already strong enough at CM and have plenty of talent for this position. We need a player for goals and one for CB or a defensive allrounder.

We severely lack physical presence in that central midfield area now.

    Henrik Larsson (obvious choice ehh?)

Wanyama was great but he wasn't the reason we done well. It was a team effort. He was, as we all know, hyped up a bit more because of that Barca game. I will miss him but we have cover for him already.

Perhaps we already have the players at Celtic who can replace the departing stars. It's time for players to step up and take up the challenge of replacing key players. Stokes bring the main striker can easily get 20 goals a season in the SPL, Sammy needs to up his tally of goals as do forrest and brown. Defensively ambrose needs to get back to his pre juve form, fans need to get behind to get his confidence back. Mulgrew should be looking to cement his place with him or van *.
Def mid and wanyama is a harder position, I'm sure if Lennon can work with Irvine steadily, we might hAve Vic's replacement waiting in the wings.

I said he was great and his contribution was great i never said he won us the games wilson was also great and hooperman was always our star striker all of wich are gone you telling me right now you believe this current celtic team could do what last years team did in europe?

we need to strenghen areas add depth to ensure that if an injury crises was to arrise or even a few injuries like we have now we can deal with it remember playing in all cups europe and SPL is alot of matches wich can lead to tired players or injuries for me and ill say this it is my opinion only we are not ready .

We should of snapped finbo up for the 5 mill as a direct replacement for hooperman and then maybe had a proper look for someone to come in at the back and someone who can stiffen up the hole VIC left.
