Finally some news.

So what's the news again?

Yeah that's just out of order when every other club pays extra for players and sells them under the value.

Haha, as soon as you mention his name people freak out because he plays for Northern Ireland. It wasn't a call to sign him, rather that it is possible to get a guy cheaper who gets just as many goals.

So the goal tally from a previous club isn't a fair assessment of how many goals a player will score.

Nevertheless, McKay does stand a good chance of being the top marksman in the SPL last season. The guy is quality, but nobody can see it but lets look at the facts here, 22 goals in the league last year, and he doesn't take penalties.
Already on a goal a game this season. But somehow it's illegal to even mention his name

That's one of the reasons right their that Scottish football is *, it's attitudes like these that have put many a footballer off playing football at an early age.

 

Supposedly we've been put off by the £5m asking price, I'm a bit disappointed at that to say the least.

 

Because he plays for Northern Ireland? Paddy Mccourt, Neil Lennon?

I'm starting to lose track of what Irish we are supposed to love uneqivocally and not.

 

The point is that he wasn't scoring lots of goals before he arrived, but now he gets goals almost every week, and he didn't cost 4-5million quid. People think we need to spend all this money to get a goalscorer. I honestly think we've had the rip taken out of us on this deal. Other clubs have too and they've went and looked elsewhere - we are probably doing the same.

 

I thought he was Scottish - and I still think he's not good enough......which was the sole reason for saying "i don't think he's good enough" (paraphrasing.)

Billy McKay is born and bred in the same town i grew up in England, Corby dubbed "Little Scotland" and playing for Northern Ireland through grandparent i believe not that it matters.

The guy was at Northampton and left because he wasn't good enough.. its a bit of a mockery that he done so well in the SPL imo. Fair play to the lad though clearly improved but i would be underwhelmed and a bit embarrassed if he signed for Celtic would get the goals, but still not Celtic quality would be found out in the champions league obviously, wanna see more ambition like Finnbogason. I am pretty sure he's a Rangers man as well.

Will be an outcry on here if/when he doesn't end up signing.

 

Swiss champion Basel says it has sold Argentine forward Raul Bobadilla to Bundesliga club Augsburg . So that should rule them out now .
