For us it's really dodgy to spend £5/6million on a player though.

For us to do that and come away unscathed then we'll need to give him probably atleast a 5 year contract to make sure he doesnt want away after 3 years and on a reduced fee in his last year of contract. But if we do that and he's constantly injured or turns out pish then we'll have * away a fortune.

Plus he would probably need to score 30+ goals per season for us for us to sell him on and make a profit as no-one is going to pay £9/10/11/12million for an SPL striker whos only scoring 20-30 a season.

 

Come on, surely we can up the alleged 4.5 million Augsburg put in. 5-6 million would probably force their hand, let's go for it!

His success in Holland and at international level won't go unnoticed. Combine it with (hopefully) success in the SPL and CL with us, and bearing in mind he's a young striker, I think we would be looking at about £10m after a couple of years.........

A 5 year contract or bust? What chat is that...if the guy gives us 3 good seasons in Europe even 2 ...the money from that will more than make up for that. Even if we sell him for the same values ....we'll still be up.

Penny pinching bargain hunting only policy is fine....this time 5 million is more than achievable mate....and will not hurt us. As for injuries. ....same goes for any player.....look at boerigter and virgil.....cant use fear as a reason not to sign ambitious players pal.

The team is flying straight to Kazakhstan after the game on Saturday so ideally anybody we sign is signed by Friday and on the plane on Saturday.

See I actually agree with this.

But who's to say we wont spend it? There is plenty of time left in this window.

I keep popping into this thread from time to time and see it's jumped another 6 pages and I go immediately to the back page to see if anything new has happened and there's nothing.

The worry, fear, anger and hysteria in here is hilarious, and for what?

* all that's what. Nobody knows if we've tabled a bid, nobody knows how much, nobody knows anything and yet are going * tonto about this. (not directing that at you personally by the way).

A few baseless reports in newspapers that frankly could have been lifted from any Celtic forum, and some tweets from some guys on twitter who for some reason like to think of themselves "in the know".

Nobody even knows if we even see this guy as our first choice, we could be beavering away trying to get in someone completely different.

It's absolute madness in here, seriously.

If in 3 weeks time we haven't added some genuine quality then I will be front and centre doing my dinger but until then I'm going to trust Lenny and the board to get this right.
