If he paid attention he'd be grand, but he's always using the pace to recover from a poor position.

I'd be tempted to give him a run out though, it must be hard always coming on late into a game. He definitely offers something going forward too

Guy deserves a longer run in the team considering his rival Taylor isn't cutting it right now. Would like to judge him after a 5-10 game run and see if he can get up to speed. With Rodgers coaching he might just squeeze out a decent player at least until a permanent solution is put in in January

I literally groaned when I saw him coming on but thought apart from getting caught out once he actually done OK. Probably better than Taylor today anyway.

There was a but late on when he won the ball, kept it from going for a throw and then won us a throw.

    I was cheering like he’d scored a 30 yarder.

Maybe he just couldn't get his head around that wild inverted stuff. See how Rodgers does with him.

Been an absolutely astounding and outstanding day today, so staying away from negativity as much as I can, but I will say again, the fact we had an entire Summer to find a first choice left back and got nowhere is an absolute disgrace. Bernabei should be nowhere near a Celtic team. Taylor should be back up to someone better. It is that simple.

Some of our players who have under performed the last few games picked it up today. Taylor was not one of them. Many mistakes from defensive play, too many touches and over passing. Should we just keep playing him and hope for the best?

Or give Bernie a chance. A 22 year old that never been given a run in the team and who suits the managers tactics better. Maybe he surprises us, maybe Taylor being dropped pushes him to improve or maybe both fail. We don't know really but considering we did not sign the LB all wanted this summer something has to change.

I think there’s too much going on in the background for him to turn it around here but I’d love to see him do it.

Looked like he was trying to run the clock down at 70 odd minutes, only just subbed on the pitch. Looks to have zero confidence in his ability or determination to overcome it.

Will say he has some cross on him (not displayed today) and a good bit of pace, but the lack of confidence is holding him back. Only he can do something about it, and the more time goes on the harder it will be for him.

Thought his attitude was poor tbh. Jogging back lazily, losing his man a couple of times and not looking bothered.

Wonder if Rodgers expected a new LB in and had told Bernie he wasn't part of his plans

Thought he did really well when he came on, disagree with his attitude, apart from him being a bit to casual when jogging to the ball in the corner, played really well for time on park.

His attitude was excellent, he took to what he was asked to do straight away.

I think we need improvement there but when asked to roll his sleeves up and pitch in for the team he did.

Bizarre player. Sometimes looks quality and the next minute miles out of position and getting rinsed.

Botton line, this guy is not the answer to our problem position, just cant do the basic bread and butter defending.

I have doubts too but how do we know until we give him a run. He's attitude seemed fine and he's sat on the bench only playing like 18 games in a year. A run of games can do wonders for Bernies confidence especially with BR coaching him.

The way I see it we can't just keep playing taylor and hoping for improvement. If a player is under preforming then they have to be benched and shown they have to fight for that place. Maybe that pushes Taylor. Very few players have earned that right to be a guaranteed starter.

He’s had enough chances in games for us all to see he’s not good enough. He can’t do the basics well enough, as we’ve seen, so an extended run is out the question.
    Punt asap.
