    I'd much prefer we sell him and bring another LB in to properly challenge Taylor, but at the same time Bernabei would fair much better under Rodgers system than Ange's.

    People said that about Taylor last year and he came on alright.

    The system didn't suit him last year, might be a better fit under Rodgers system

    His problem is Taylor is absolutely miles in front of him. Arguably the biggest drop in quality from first choice to second choice is left back.

    No matter how many people want to slag Taylor he has so many upsides and is continually improving to the point it would cost an absolute fortune to replace/improve on him.

    Well I always thought Taylor was a decent player. Bernabei is fine bombing forward but defensively he always looks so suspect.

    I like Taylor, but it also has to be recognised that he struggled massively as a traditional overlapping left back prior to Ange’s arrival. He was a revelation as an inverted full back, but that doesn’t necessarily fit Rodgers philosophy.

    It will be interesting to see how he does. I won’t be surprised if he thrives and kicks on again, but I also won’t be surprised if he struggles and there’s legitimate calls for an upgrade.

    Agreed. A lack of pace and power is extremely difficult to overcome for a fullback being asked to overlap. Ironically they’re two of Bernabei’s better qualities.

    I'm willing to see what Rodgers can do with him.

    He undoubtedly has ability, and wasn't really playing a system that suited him. Also, with the exception of one game , all I can think of, he didn't really have any stand out nightmares, or standout MofM performances.

    Give the kid a chance I say.

    But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking for a new LB.

    Taylor has been magnificent, but there's better quality out there than both him and Bernie.

    I don't think he's good enough even for back up, whoever scouted him not sure what they saw in him as a player and felt he could do a job for us.

    The guy is erratic, passing is poor at times and defensively he's all over the place.

    I'll be astonished if Rodgers can do anything with him.
