Done well when he came on, seemed to give us an energy boost. He did give the ball away cheaply a few times, as did many today. Linked up well with Hack, that goal will do the world of good for his confidence.
For me, he offers more going forward than Taylor.
I get the concerns about him defensively but against most SPL side, dont think its that much a big deal.
Only way he will improve defensively is with proper coaching and more game time.
Saying all that, hope GT is fit for next week.

I think he would be a machine at LWB in a 3-5-2. Would like to see him given a chance at LW reckon he'd be good there considering the runs he makes and willingness to take defenders on, his defensive abilities are non existent.

 

Defensively has lots to work on. Looks very casual at times leading to poor distribution. Would maybe be better as a wing back in another system. Still young so hopefully Ange can sort him out. Will reserve judgment until next season. Great goal today.

Goal will do him a decent confidence boost but like others I'm still not convinced he's defensively sound enough to be a LB in this system, for me he still looks more like a midfielder/winger than a defender, would be a more natural fit for a 3-5-2 or left mid in a solid 4-4-2, but still has a way to go learning the inverted role.

 

He’s good at the inverted role on the ball for me, going forward, us on the front foot. I’ve zero worries about him going forward and joining in the attack. He’s quite brilliant going forward not just the final third he carries the ball breaking the lines brilliantly, the big worry about him is that he hasn’t shown much defensive ability so far, and under pressure he gets rash as *.

I like him and think there’s something there to nurture. Not quite yet for big games where we need to defend though. At the same time though, there’ll need to be a time that he shows it if he’s going to make it, needs to be a point where it clicks.

We know through other players talking how much one on one coaching and analysis goes on under Ange, Berny will be very aware by now about what he needs to do.

He'll come good. He's got so much room for development, he's younger than Mikey Johnston ffs, and this year will have been a huge culture shock for him. He's not let his head drop yet which is a huge plus sign.
