I genuinely think he should have been given more game time at LW for us. He's a hopeless LB, one of the worst defenders I've seen to be honest. But he offers a lot going forward.

Probably Ange's worst signing overall. Shocking how * he looked at times.

Agreed. Just is not a defender, and that is the fault of a) those in Argentina who told him to be a LB and b) our "scouts" who failed to notice this issue. * a LW, he'd be very good.

all away and 2 players brought in. That window was an all timer especially giving the situation that we are actually in a title fight.

    Alexandro Bernabei's exit
"Again, a really good professional. Never gave us a minute's problem while I've been here. He's trained hard every day, but he wants to go and play. I can only be open and honest to say his chances would be limited here. So that chance to go to Brazil and the team he's gone with has an Argentinian coach and hopefully he can go and play regular football."

Is it a concern being reliant on Greg Taylor? "No. It's something that if I didn't want it to happen then it didn't have to happen. But I'm confident enough in what we have in the squad and the remainder of the season that we have cover in that position. Liam Scales can play there and we'll have other options to play there."

Yeah if we were actively trying to get shift, with South American windows still open we should have brought someone in. Things like this could be why Lawell has gone.

We now have 1 left back, 1 * left back.

This just highlights the neglect of the 1st team.. we've known for long enough that left back was a position we needed to strengthen yet did nothing and to prove how * this guy is we let him leave bcoz actually playing him is worse than not playing him.

Left back not being addressed in the January window gets worse by the day. He’s an absolute donut of a footballer but he was a designated left back and now if GT breaks down or is suspended we are royally *.

Interesting BR mentions Scales, he’s had his opportunities to play him there and turned it down. It’s now being mentioned because it might end up being the only option but he’s already said he doesn’t want to disrupt the centre of his defence.

Think that is precisely the thinking here, if something happens to GT. He may never be the greatest of all time, but it's not like Ralston is a massive step down from what we have, while Scales played mostly at LB when Ange was the manager and did pretty well when called upon.

FTR, Celtic only lost 1 of the 9 games Scales played LB under Ange (the one loss being the 2-0 Away v Bodo/Glimt, which is a game a lot of players would sooner forget), including scoring a couple of goals and an assist or two from that position - besides with Nawrocki, Welsh and Lagerbielke all there, plenty of CB cover to slide Scales to the left.

It's embarrassing that we've put ourselves into this risky position of only having one left back at the club.

Just goes to show how bad he was then.

Or to put it nicely, the move worked out so bad we actually allowed him to leave with us only having one recognised LB.

Ralston is clearly his backup RB/LB

Somehow managed to * up a thing everyone wanted, that’s genuinely kinda impressive to even manage that.

Yeah, I don't get the drama of letting him go. More likely to do well in South America and recoup some money.

Aye, he was terrible, which is why we should've signed at least a back up (if not an improvement) in the position in January. It was something we all knew we needed in the summer too.
