Alexander Frei???

He confirmed that Celtic enquired about him 2 years ago, but Dortmund didn't want to sell so were asking for too much.

Then he pointed out that since then he's had 2 serious injuries. When he said he's a 'maybe', I think he meant it's looking more and more unlikely.

 

How often does WGS even admit to have heard of transfer targets let alone admit that we are interested in him.

 

Ray Stubbs put him on the spot, I don't think he expected to be quizzed about Celtic.

It's just my take on what he said, maybe he meant something else. But the impression I got was that the injuries had put him off.

 

That was about the gist of it and also he ended hinting that he's ofcourse not the only striker we may have looked at

 

WGS said that we went after him 3 times and each time he was injured though.

 

Dont think it'll happen given his injury problems, but its good to see thats the kind of market we're shopping in.

Awrite guys Gordon Strachan was saying that alex frei was a possibility for the hoops but he also said apart from his new injury he had a recent hip injury do you think he is worth the gamble ?

yeah he is very injury prone. the one game i watched him, he got injured. utter pish. Klasnic has had a two serious kidney operations and still needs treatment for it on a regular basis. how many of you would turn him down? suppose its different rules for different players judging by some opinions.

lol no. he uses them to live!!!!

 

he is very versatile. usually plays as an out and out, good with his back to goal, can run channels and has a good eye for goal. he can also play just off as for the swiss in their first game and in midfield as he is a good passer. i like him and would offer a new dimension to the team. btw when strachan says maybe it tends to mean we'll try.

 

He's not the answer for the Switz or us.

 

I hope we don´t get him. He isn´t that good...
