Alexander Frei???

Discussion in 'Transfer Rumours' started by hoops no7, May 25, 2008.

  1. a * knee, the huns will be drawing up an offer as we speak:icon_mrgreen:

  2. Nah after watching how easy he got * in this game id rather we looked elsewhere. It would be like chasing another Kewel, hewould need his own hospital never mind his own physio's. He was looking good aswell then he got a slight knock to his knee then it was game over. He'd get mauled in Scotland.

  3. What happened to him last night is no mark of his propensity to get injured badly. It was a nothing knock that can happen to ANYONE.

  4. his team rate him as a 20million quid player.. seriously we've more chance of signing ronaldinho.

  5. Linked with him again in today's Daily Record. He's quoted as saying Celtic want him, but there's no offer on the table yet.

  6. Id take him, anyone know how long he's out for?is he * for the rest of the euro's?

  7. Says in paper he'll be out until August.

  8. nah man we are better leaving him then because that means he will miss the rest of pre season and early season and we wont have him back till like September - October until he gets back to match fitness...he would also miss like the first two champs league games probably :31:

  9. He's out for 6 weeks and I really doubt what's in the Daily Record. First of all, he wouldn't talk about his future during a tournament and secondly, he seems very happy at dortmund.

  10. Switzerland captain Alexander Frei claims Celtic have resurrected their interest in signing him.
The 28-year-old was ruled out of Euro 2008 after suffering a knee injury during his side's opening defeat by the Czech Republic.
But the Borussia Dortmund forward will be fit again in six weeks and he has told Celtic manager Gordon Strachan to make a move if he is interested.
"Apparently Celtic were in for me in 2004 and 2006," Frei said. "Now they want me again in 2008.
"However, no-one has ever put an offer on the table. If they want me they can phone me. Otherwise, I don't want to talk about it."

He's choking for a move to Paradise!

  11. Well he can keep choking for a move. We dont need a player that
    is prone to injuries.

  12. He was never injured until his move to Dortmund. Then 1 long term injury and now this one, probably 6-8 weeks.

  13. no no he is 29 in a few weeks and plus they said he is not for sale and would rejekt 20
    there is better out there

  14. hes better than Samaras, even though i know hes only 23, still there is better we could be getting :50:

  15. * me, is 29 old these days???? Henke is 37 and look at him, Paolo Maldini has just signed an extension at Milan and he is 40 this month! I'm not saying he'll play until he's in his 40's, but at 29 Frei has some valuable experience behind him but he's far from past it.

  16. He reminds me of Zurawski. It's a no no from me.

  17. Frei would do me, great goal scoring record

I haven't seen much of the guy except for the odd bundesliga game on Setanta but I wouldn't buy him as hes injured, we need guys who will slot right in, if we sign him then hes out for six weeks then it will take even longer to settle in.

I would wait till after the euros to make a decision on any player involved as well cause prices will rise and fall, and Frei being injured has maybe forced his hand into talking up a move to Celtic.

  18. I'd take him as well, goalscorer and brings vital experience.

  19. my goodness, what bollocks this thread has turned into.

"we don't need him as he's injured" - he will be fit again, his career isn't over. he has jarred his knee which is very painfull. i did it in a match 2 months ago. still strains a bit when i put in a hard shot, but then again i didn't have the phsio he will get.

"he's injury prone" - how is he? because he got injured in the first match of the Euros? absolute nonsense. any player can suffer from a jarred knee if they're caught at an angle and their foot is planted. he is no Kewell. he doesn't get injured every 2 or 3 matches. i've watched him since he was at Rennes and i can only remember him being injured there once for a couple of weeks and one long term injury at Dortmund. in comparison Larsson is very 'injury prone' as he broke his leg and was out for a season. absolute bollocks.

"he reminds me of Zurawski" - he doesn't look a thing like Zurawski, plays a different type of game to him, he has an exceptional goal record for his previous club, his current club and his national team. i believe its something like one goal in just over every two games.

obviously some people have only watched him in the opener of the Euros and based their opinion on that. if that was case, he is very injury prone and has a terrible goalscoring record and reminds me of Zurawski when he was a baby....always crying.
